Limited Edition Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL Bundle Appears In The UK

Posted by Orla Madden

It's yours for just £189.85

Ahead of the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast scheduled for this Wednesday 17th April, online UK retailer has listed the Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS XL bundle on its website.

The bundle is available for pre-order at £189.85 (approx. €220 / $290), and has been given a release date of the 14th June, the same day as the highly anticipated life simulation game lands in Europe.

So far, the limited edition 3DS XL has only seen the light of day in Japan, but could the new hardware bundle be on European shelves this year? Guess we'll just have to wait and see on Wednesday. Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.

I loved this when I saw Japan had it, I'd love one of these.. Now if only I were able to justify buying another 3DS..

That looks awful compared to the Fire Emblem one. Why not make it green?

Koapa said:

No, another XL bundle
I want special edition of 3DS. XL version has far from original versions.
If you compare Fire Emblem edtion of 3DS and 3DS XL, original 3DS wins 10times!

I hate how it looks. I wish they'd make a special edition I actually liked. & why is it $290?? That's xtra like $50... I thot bundles... eh, I dunno, way too expensive

I don't really like the polka dot design on this 3DS XL, but I'm getting two physical copies for me and my sister.

I already have an XL and two regular 3DS models, but I would buy an Animal Crossing XL if it had an AC character or scene on it, like the DS game-card case that Club Nintendo offers. This one, with the little icons, does nothing for me.

I've been wanting this one since first seeing it last year, however I can't really justify buying a second 3DS XL...

Personally I'd like a new model of 3DS rather than a new color option, but whatever helps Nintendo, I'm all for it.

bezerker99 said:

But first, that price has to change. I refuse to spend $290 for an XL with a preinstalled game on it.

Hunter-D said:

@bezerker99 At the very least I think Animal Crossing goes hand in hand with Digital Distribution. It's one of those games that you'll continue to play years later regardless of how long your gaming session is.

@Peach64 Fire Emblem XL is a bit too plain in my opinion (just the standard blue XL). Whereas the NA Fire Emblem 3DS console looked out-of-this-world amazing.

Shworange said:

If this game comes preinstalled on the SD card, is it impossible to transfer purchases from an old 3ds to this model?

rdenton85 said:

If I could transfer my Ambassador games and saves between consoles, then I'd buy this immediately

zipmon said:

@Shworange From what I've heard with these preinstalled bundles, you can do a system transfer as normal; once it's finished, AC won't be on the new 3DS anymore, but you can download it from the eShop for free since it merges your purchase history.

Mk_II said:

@bezerker99 UK and Euro prices include VAT sales tax (20 or 21%). If this bundle is to be sold in the USA, it will roughly be 20% cheaper

bezerker99 said:

@Mk_II Thanks. That's somewhat reassuring. I've already got my Pre-Order for New Leaf paid off so if this Bundle comes to America, I will just transfer that money towards the purchase of an XL.

Prof_Elvin_Gadd said:

I picked up the Pikachu LE 3DS XL so I won't be getting this if it comes to America, but I really hope it does! The more LE models we get the better. I'm not opposed to getting another LE XL if it is special enough to me, like say a Luigi Green model.

Drawdler said:

I hope it comes out here! I want one, I'm just not sure that I'm willing to import...

MagicEmperor said:

From a distance it still looks like a strawberry Pop Tart, and I do not mean that as an insult. It looks awesome! My 3DS XL is running its course (seriously, it's less durable than the standard 3DS), so if this hits the states I'll strongly consider it.

DUDE!! I WANT IT!! (granted I really don't want an XL)---but I DO love this...
And, like always, Nintendo proves it's ultimate intelligence and BUNDLES!!
