LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Coming To Wii U And 3DS

Posted by Andy Green

Marvellous!

We’re big fans of LEGO games here at Nintendo Life. Recently we’ve seen the likes of Lord of the Rings, Batman and the DC Superheroes receive the LEGO treatment while original game LEGO City: Undercover is due out on Wii U soon. The DC Universe of characters won’t be the only ones to get their own LEGO game as it has now been confirmed that Marvel Superheroes will also be joining the party.

Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be multi-platform and will therefore be coming to Wii U, 3DS and DS - however the game will be skipping the Wii.

It offers an original story which sees Nick Fury call upon a huge collection of superheroes - including Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man and Wolverine - to protect the earth from the likes of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. It features a LEGO New York to bash through as well as several iconic locations throughout the Marvel Universe.

TQ Jefferson, Vice President of Games Production at Marvel Entertainment, had this to say:

If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.

The game will be available in the beginning of Fall 2013. We're already looking forward to smashing up a load of LEGO buildings with LEGO Hulk! Are you looking forward to this one?

I really hope they don't give them the Super Hero Squad personalities and just stick with the usual Lego charm.
The storyline sounds like Spiderman Friend or Foe.
There needs to be at least 1 good Ben Grimm joke in the game somewhere.

If more games skip the Wii for the Wii U then theoretically more Wii U should be sold and therefore more 3rd parties will make games for the Wii U.

DS Version? Oh no... This will hold up the 3DS and Vita versions.

The 3DS port will be an upscale of the DS game and the Vita version will be an upscale of 3DS port. The same happened with Batman and Lord of the Rings!

It is good that there will be a DS version but the 3DS and Vita versions should be based on the HD console version.

If Dr. Strange is in it I'll be there. Should hopefully scratch the itch that the Avengers game won't.

It will be brilliant. They've done it with the DC characters in Lego Batman 2 unlockables and now its Marvel's turn. They need to improve vehicle control and flying character control. Thought the Wii was struggling a little with the LEGO's engine at times, looking fwd to the Wii U version. Not sure the 3DS version is the "upscaled" DS version tbh.

Wow there really just farting these Lego games out now arent they?
Im not interested in this, I'd rather see something a bit different as a Lego game. Like Lego Spongebob or Lego 007!

I've always liked Spider-Man, but I'm not a big fan of the games so this LEGO Spider-Man seems pretty cool.
