What games have you personally tried that you feel were a waste of time and points? This thread can help many to avoid making costly purchases on games they're uncertain about.

First off, I think it's a great game. Second, that's not a WiiWare game...

THANK GOD someone with SENSE.

Everyone moans about secret rings. It was very very good and underrated it was a step in the right way for 3D sonics.

Plus it was more true to sonic than the other 3D crap....

SOMEWHERE IN THE HEAVENS MARATHON AWAITS.

Lost Winds... Although it started off strongly it got really tired half way through and was a real labour to get to the end. Now that it's complete there really is no reason to revisit the game...

I didn't like Secret Rings either, but I don't like 3D games much in general, especially Sonic ones. It wasn't awful though

Anyway, on topic, the only WiiWare title I 100% regret downloading is Niki Rock N Ball. Most free Flash games are better than that horrendous game.

Gyrostarr and Evasive Space weren't very good either, but they were at least a decent diversion for a couple days each. That's better than most games I rent, and rentals cost more, so I can't really say I "regret" it.

Oh, just saw the post above me, and I agree that there is no reason to replay it, but I had fun playing through it once on my own and once in co-op, so I feel I got my money's worth.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

MarkyVigoroth

I regret Gyrostarr... though I find that fun...

Actually, I like Bowser AND hairy bellies!

Wow....so many of the VC games from the reviews I was expecting greatness and wound up with crap. I only play about half the games I have d/l'd since I got my wii, and take reviews with a grain of salt, we so need a try before you buy system.

Guys, this is for WiiWare games.
I regret accepting the gift of Family Table Tennis.

I occasionally regret buying My Life as a King, especially when I think of all I could have bought instead after buying all the extras, but then I start playing it again and actually enjoy it, though it does get tedious from time to time, I don't really have a lot of wiiware game mostly I download VC games, but Lost Winds although interesting was just too short so I found that disappointing to be honest.

brain challenge. im not sure what i was expecting, its not that bad. but i was way too quick on that one, i could have spent those points a million ways and have been more satisfied.

I'm on a boat motherf****r take a look at me
Straight flowing on a boat on the deep blue sea
Busting five knots, wind whipping out my coat
You can't stop me motherf****r cause I'm on a boat

KnucklesSonic8

@sponge: Same here. The WWW review made me take the plunge and it wasn't as great as I thought. It's just... decent. I could've spent my points on something else.

Agreed!
The one that I regret purchasing the most though has to be Bang! I disliked it even more than Pop Up Pirate, for goodness sakes!

Have you tried using the retro controls? (try pressing the minus button at any point during gameplay). I found them a lot easier to use.

Oh - and lol @ ALDAWGZ.
And even though here isn't really the place to say so - SatSR was ace. So there.

I also agree with your opinions on Brain Challenge. And who's idea was the stress challenge game? The mode isn't stressful in itself, but the miniscule font size is.

Onslaught is my one WW regret. I know I might get bashed for that one, but I just can't pick it up. I can't really put my finger on what it is I'm not liking, but I think it's just that I have access to several other FPS games that are much better.

Currently Playing: [360] Mass Effect, Shadow Complex, Trials HD | [Wii] N/A | [DSi] N/A

4. Onslaught
It's totally a commendable effort for a downloadable Wii FPS. All handicaps considered, they did a bang up job, but there still isn't much depth here.

3. My Aquarium
Kept me entertained for like a month; I still load it up every week or so just to see what new fish I got, but I spend about a maximum of 30 seconds playing each sitting.

2. Space Invaders Get Even
When I first bought it, I hated it, but when I took the plunge and bought the first DLC pack, the game got infinitely better. I actually really enjoy the missions I have but, I've beaten them too many times, and if I can spend 600 points on an incredible game like Bit.Trip, then there's no way in hell I'm dishing out 5 bucks for more of the same.

1. Bomberman Blast
I SUCK AT THIS GAME

  • Critter Round Up. I know, it's embarrassing even admitting that I Dl'd it but I did and I was sorry. especially since there so much good on there now and I would've loved to use those points now.
    • Also one of those midnight break out things, from that 'Midnight" themed junk; I really hate that stuff , with all the porn looking interfaces. I think theres a bowling and a pool game like it with the same hoaky interface, I'll never touch those again.
  • I have to comment that I also hated Sonic Rings. I understand what they were trying to do but the controls were really stupid and the story in most Sonic games is bad, but... why? Why is it ALWAYS so bad? Is it that hard to make a simple cheesy video game story that doesn't insult the intelligence of even an 8 year old?

@Ren: Your mileage may vary but I'll say this again: SatSR brought many things to the Sonic franchise and without it, I would be questioning the future of the series as a whole. If it weren't for SatSR, Unleashed may have never turned out the way it did (Day Stages-wise). And people still play Sonic games for story? Wow......

@Wiiloveit: Bang more than Pop-Up Pirate?! That's horrible!

1.Critter Round up: yes I am ashamed that i bought this piece of crap. that was back before I found WiiWare-World
2. Block breaker Deluxe: also downloaded before finding enlightenment with WWW, this piece of shit took the perfectly good concept of brick breaker and F***ed it up

Pokémon Ranch. Seriously, it's only real use is for getting Mew in Diamond/Pearl, and that takes way too long.
