I am enjoying this game a lot. The difficulty ramps up pretty hard pretty early but it is a lot of fun. I wish battles were a little more interactive but positioning is pretty important in this game.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I've been enjoying it. No luck finding a 4 player draft but I did pull 6th in the Bronze League 6. I got a few powerful and come decent tricks I've been toying with, going to buy the full game later.

Oh wow, I didn't expect much but this is a really good game!
It reminds me of Magic the Gathering mixed with Fire Emblem. Anyone who is looking for a strategy game on Wii U or who enjoys card games in real life should give it a shot.
Don't be put off by the "free to play" moniker - that's misleading. It's a free demo. The full game is a straight $8 unlock if you want to experience more.
I think Hearthstone right now is enough card games for me.
Hard to argue - although gameplay is very different.
My favorite thing right now in Lucadian Chronicles is setting up a tournament team and then just checking in every day or two and making some tweaks if necessary. It's fun to see how your little combos do - and there is a lot of subtlety to how you select and arrange cards that makes a huge difference in end results.
This is a great game, but it has a few issues. First of all there're just over 100 cards which is nowhere near enough for a TCG so hopefully there will be some hefty content updates that add many new cards in the future. Secondly the game developer has been desperately struggling to squash many problematic bugs with the game. Some of these bugs are game-breaking though they're admittedly only affecting a handful of players. All-in-all Lucadian Chronicles is a solid free to play title.
Out of curiosity, is this game good for people who aren't generally fans of card games/easy enough for those types of people to understand and play well? I'm not a fan of card games outside of the old Pokemon TCG game on the Gameboy, but I've seen this game around often enough that I'm considering trying it since it's free.
"Little by little. Each day as it comes. That's how we should live."
Is it good? I have checked/played every day for over a month, and am still enjoying the game. For $8 that seems like a pretty good return. If I only played the free portion, it would have probably worn out it's welcome though.
The game is very easy to play - much easier than a normal CCG. Because you pick a small number of cards for each battle (never more than 6) and because there is no luck of the draw, strategy is generally a bit more obvious. However, even with a small pool of cards to draw from there is often surprising depth: just swapping the position of two cards can often make the difference between winning and losing.
Lucadian Chronicles isn't the best game I've ever played... but it easily earned my $8 and gets my highest recommendation for anyone looking to find a cheap and fun strategy game on Wii U.
It's simple to play, but there's a few minor rules that aren't intuitive, and the difficulty will require you to learn them. Clearing the free portion of the campaign felt like a huge accomplishment for me.
