Here, here, here we go
So they're finally here performing for you,
If you know the words you can join in too.
Put your hands together if you want to clap,
As we take you through this monkey rap.
Huh
D.K. Donkey Kong
He's the leader of the bunch, you know him well,
He's finally back, to kick some tail.
His coconut gun can fire in spurts,
If he shoots ya, it's gunna hurt.
He's bigger, faster, and stronger too,
He's the first member of the D. K. crew.
Huh
D.K. Donkey Kong
D.K. Donkey Kong is here.
This Kong's got style, so listen up dudes,
She can shrink in size to suite her mood.
She's quick and nimble when she needs to be,
She can flout through the air and clime up trees.
If you choose her, you'll not choose wrong,
With a skip and a hop, she's one cool Kong.
Huh
D.K. Donkey Kong
He has no style, he has not grace,
This Kong has a funny face.
He can handstand when he needs to
And stretch his arms out just for you,
Inflate himself just like a balloon.
This crazy Kong just digs this tune.
Huh
D.K. Donkey Kong
D.K. Donkey Kong is here.
He's back again and about time too
And this time he's in the mood.
He can fly real high with his jetpack on,
With his pistols out, he's one cool Kong.
He'll make you smile when he play's his tune,
But Kremlins beware 'cause he's after you.
Huh
D.K. Donkey Kong
Huh
Finally he's here for you he's here for you,
It's the last member of the D.K. crew.
This Kong's so strong, it isn't funny,
He'll make a Kremlin cry out for mommy.
He can pick up a bolder with relative ease
Make crushing rocks seem such a breeze.
He may move stow, he can't jump high,
but this Kong's one hell of a guy.
Huh
C'mon Cranky take it to the fridge
Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells,
Grapes melons oranges and coconut shells.
Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells,
Grapes melons oranges and coconut shells.
Oh yeah
I wonder how Nintendo got through the inevitable licensing issues with the arcade Donkey Kong and Jetpac?
I'm not aware of licensing issues with the arcade version but Jetpac is probably going to be replaced by something else from Nintendo. Maybe Mario Bros.?
Were that to stay thought? O_O
Still I'm excited to see this re-released and I will definitely download it.
The arcade Donkey Kong wasn't directly made by Nintendo, but a Japanese manufacturer named Ikegami Tsushinki, which sued Nintendo for violating a contract of producing Donkey Kong arcade cabinets. The case was eventually settled, but the lack of re-releases of the original arcade version was blamed for it. Donkey Kong 64 still included it anyway, so maybe it wasn't as big of an issue as I thought.
Jetpac, though, was surely the real issue. It should be very interesting to learn from British players if Jetpac is still in the game or not when they get far enough.
Jetpac seems to be what was preventing release earlier. Didn't they release a 3DS-exclusive port of the Arcade DK not too long ago?
Damnit, and I spent $25 on the cart about 12 months ago...would've prefered spending only $10 for disappointment.
My condolences. At least you knew what you were getting into when you bought it.

I had forgotten about the licensing issues with Donkey Kong arcade game, but it seems to not be very relevant today given that we have seen the original arcade game re-released back in 1999. Unless of course we're getting the NES Donkey Kong game instead.
I'm reminded of when Rare said it was up to Nintendo to release it back in 2010 which made me hopeful for a eventual re-release. Eventually I gave up on it and seeing it finally come to the Virtual Console was a great surprise, even despite owning the original cart.
And N64 games have the original manual? That is awesome. I'll re-download my Super Mario 64 VC release.
So one step closer to Banjo-Kazooie on VC... lol I dunno, I guess that's too much of a stretch.
I still have DK64, so it's no big deal for me, but I'm happy to see that many people will be playing such a charming game. Plus I remember having lots of fun with the Goldeneye-esque multiplayer, although it might be a tad outdated by today's standards.
While I think DK64 has some serious flaws in it's design, I'm so happy this will be on the VC. One less reason to struggle connecting up the old consoles to modern TVs. Hopefully Pilot Wings 64 isn't too far behind.
