there it is; miyamoto--san had some trouble demonstrating it, but it looks awesome anyway. it's called 'the skyward sword', and for those who didn't see it the visuals are a combination of windwaker and twilight princess, with some light cel shading over an adult link. the camera remains in 3rd person, and as expected, the sword and bow controls look very similar to wii sports resort. link swings in any direction that you do, you swing with both hands to spin, and if you hold the sword up you can charge it to fire some sort of laser out of it (yes!)
there were a few new items shown including a remote control bug and a whip that you also control with the motion+, but other than the new controls there weren't any earth shattering changes in the demo. now, to wait for some people to play it...
oh yeah-- it's not coming out this year.

Looks nice and I'm sure they'll fix the controls.
Not a fan of the series at all but I'm actually excited for this one

Amazing graphics. Awesome use of WM+. My only reservation is that playing with WM+ means extended play sessions will make my arms ache ^^;

.........Whatever happened to that freaky ghost girl thing anyways? XD

I guess that the graphical style was the only way for please both WW and TP fans.

I love the graphical style. I wanted an adult cell-shaded Link ever since those statues of an adult Hero of Time in Hyrule Castle under the sea in WW

The title's a bit of a tongue twister, but this does sound pretty awesome. (Haven't seen the footage yet, but I will watch later.)
The apparent return to cel-shading makes this bird very, very happy...ditto the brighter color palette. Twilight Princess was practically monochrome.
No, wait...that would have been stylish. Twilight Princess was a night at the landfill.

Awhile back in a speculation thread I talked about a dream I had where Link was standing at the top of a cliff; he closed his eyes, spread out his arms and jumped off, and right as he was about to hit the bottom, he turned into a bird-like creature.Well you all saw the trailer today. Minus the bird, I called it.

To be brutally honest, I'm not a fan of the new art style--and this is coming from a guy who thinks Wind Waker is the greatest game of all time. I thought Twilight Princess and Wind Waker both had very strong artistic style, but this sort of half-and-half style just isn't working for some reason. It just looks very plain...almost "kiddy".Don't get me wrong, the gameplay blew me away, and I'm sure I'll eat my words when I see some more footage (or at least some footage that's less grainy than the live feed I was watching) but right now, I'm sold on the gameplay--not the style.

This looks great, I'm really looking forward to it and it looks like it could be one of Link's best games yet.

I thought it looked awesome, but NEXT YEAR!? Omg, I don't know if I can wait that long...:I
I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!

I am a bit dissapointed in the art direction Nintendo took here. It looks like a Wind Waker-style world with a misplaced Twilight Princess Link.
The gameplay looks awesome though.
