It wasn't an insult. If you take it that way, though, so be it. It was a serious concern, though maybe a bit of an old man's fear.
Also, I knew what you meant prior to the bolded edit of your previous message. I wasn't twisting your words for the sake of a joke, though I would certainly understand why you'd think that, coming from me.
No harm intended.
Nah, I didn't make it clear, and I do occasionaly skip out words when I type. My bad.
I am frustrated by Nintendo's insistence that every Wii owner has ten million friends just waiting around town to come over and play. Sometimes local multiplayer just isn't possible!!! And this doesn't look like the type of game that's fun by yourself. Oh well, Nintendo will never understand I guess.

I think no online is probably best. Just look at Brawl and MKW's online. You'd have idiots running all over cheating with " ZOMG teh best hax evar! ". Same goes for leaderboards.
On a side note: If Mario gets Kangaroo, Fox, and Bird capable of flight Suits, he'll have one for every main character of my story (he now has Raccoon, Penguin and Turtle covered).
Rjay, ya don't need 10million friends dorko, just 3 will do, but if thats a push, don't worry you can play on your own. And to suggest that playing a Mario platformer by yourself, would not be fun?!? Go away!
In answer to the topic... Don't know cos I havn't played it yet, but then how could it go wrong. Bagsy Mario.
Hopefully it'll be a good single-player game and have a kinder gentler mode for people like me who are open to the possibility of a nice Mario 2D game, but historically haven't had much fun with them.
I love local multiplayer and I'm glad games like this are bringing it back in full force. However, like many others, I am growing older and my friends are growing older. We each have our own lives in very different areas. As such, it's VERY tough to get great local mp going. This is unfortunate as NSMBWii could be the life of a party.
Recent interviews with Miyamoto have me worried about the challenge level as well. Oh well, I'm sure that if I can round up some friends on occasion, the game will be worth it.
I don't know why people are worried about difficulty. For a game estimated at having 80 levels, even if the difficulty curve is nigh imperceptible, the last levels have to be a good challenge. Plus, so long as you can at least find one other person to play with (not necessarily three), you can compete with that person for endless challenge.

speaking of lack of challenging levels, i finally got 120 stars on Super Mario Galaxy 2day (and started playing with a certain unlocked character!)
i think that the last 4 stars i had to collect were rather easy compared to other mario games
however, playing with the "new" character could prove more challenging
Yoshi's in it, I'm already sold. I hope there are a few more characters and some unlockables, maybe even online play or a mode specifically for competition. But even if none of that happened, I'm content with just Yoshi in there!
Yeah, with Yoshi and all the suits, this is looking like a mix of Mario Bros 1, 3 and Mario World. I'm more excited for this than Galaxy 2, and Other M is barely in front.
I'm looking foward to this game more then any of the others. I wonder if they will have a mini-game selection like they did on the DS? I kinda hope they don't. I would rather them stick as much content into the actual game vs them feeling like they need to create another mini-game.

For those who haven't seen it yet, they also released a new gameplay trailer that, while very similar to the first, actually showed off just how much the graphics have been enhanced and polished since E3. https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/wii/new_gameplay_trailer_o...
I think it'll be another step back for Mario. I'm thinking more silly innovations that look good in videos, but then when played people will realize "Oh, well here's another gimmick that we'd be better off without". I also think that even though it's supposely going to be harder than recent Mario games, it'll still be too easy.
