Brawl was basically SSBM with all those features. Nintendo loves profiting as much as possible without doing any actual work, but that would be a new low...

I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest thing out on the wii this year was wii sports resort/motion+. My bet is they are going to focus mainly on DS, so that everyone who bought a wii can give them another $160 to buy a DSi instead of just $50 for a new really awesome franchise game. I'm not thinking it'll be the best year to be a wii owner.

SSBB with Wii controls (I assume you mean motion controls)? WTF? How would that even work, you don't look in the same direction as your character, your character has a fixed set of possible movements, etc.

I'd jokingly say Dynamic Slash but I expect it to be more along the lines of either Wii Fit Plus or maybe a set of multiple games.

New Super Mario World for DS would be a dream come true, but I doubt it. I would expect a Wii game to be the big name. Mario back on Wii would be too soon. Zelda seems like it would be too soon, too, but that does seem more likely. I would expect a series we haven't seen on Wii yet. Yes, I know Zelda was a port, but it was released on Wii first, so I still think of it as a Wii game, and that's better than other Nintendo franchises can say.

I'm thinking since we already got Excite Bots for our racing fix and F-Zero isn't that big a title in comparison with its other franchises that it won't be that. Pikmin 3 or Star Fox is what I would count on, though despite Miyamoto confirming a Pikmin, Mario, and Zelda being in the works repeatedly, he's never mentioned Star Fox that I know of. So maybe it'll be Pikmin.

Personally, I think the little article IGN ran about Gamestop confirming a big title for the end of the year was ridiculous. Of course Nintendo is going to have a big title for holiday season. Maybe Animal Crossing wasn't everyone's cup of tea (certainly not mine), it was still a big seller. They always have at least one major franchise for Christmas. This isn't news.

I think it's going to be "Housewife Mama". You go through the typical day of a housewife. Waking up and making breakfast for the kids, get them dressed, drop them off at the bus stop. After your done with the kids you come back inside to clean up the house. But first you turn on the television to see if your soap opera has started first. After your soap opera, you scamper upstairs and shower, brush teeth, dress, and then start cleaning up the kitchen. The kids come home from school and you make them a snack while helping them with their homework. When night comes, you finish pickig up around the house, go to bed, pretend you've got a headache, and then go to sleep.

Sounds fun!?

The Cooking Mama games were made by a third party, Nintendo had nothing to do with them. The closest they've come is Bonsai Barber (published by Nintendo but not developed) and that got a review average of 82.5 on Metacritic.

I agree with you on the Mario side but the Zelda I say NO! Not only has Zelda TP on Wii been released almost a year before Galaxy but we have seen more than one Zelda title in less than 3 years apart from each other. LoZ Ocarina was realeased in 1998 and LoZ Majoras Mask was released in 2000 and thats only 2 yeas apart. Then you've got all the remakes/ports of Zelda on GCN which where okay lol

So a Zelda adventure on Wii might just be on the Horizon to be played on our Wii's this year as we know it

I have a very strong gut feeling that the next big core title from nintendo will be pikmin 3. At least around the holidays. If you look at the way they released major franchises, 2007 was SMG. 2008 was AC:CF. This year would be pikmin. We have NPC Pikmin. I predict NPC Pikmin 2 by summer. Finally Pikmin 3 by Winter. 2009 will probably be the year of Pikmin.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

On DS it would have to say Zelda ST, on wii, I honestly can't think of a single game from Nintendo, I suppose Resort will sell well, but that doesn't mean I would consider it a AAA title, lets see what they announce at E3.

Definitely not Melee with wi-fi, but if it was I'd assume it'd be much better than what Nintendo has up it's sleeves.

I think Pikmin 3 is one of the more likely options.

I'm glad someone realized that! :)

On a serious note, I do hope it's Pikmin 3. Nintendo would sell tons of this title and just like the above posts, it does make sense. Get people used to NPC Pikmin and Pikmin 2. Then introduce P3 at E3. I hope, but I won't bet anything, especailly after last years disaster.

They (reggie) say they have surprises but mario, zelda and pikmin has already been hinted at, so perhaps f-zero, kid icarus or donkey kong.

As much as I'd like to think otherwise, I think a new Kid or Kong would end up being bad.

if its a game that nintendo is confident will need lots of shelf space, and will be widley popular its going to be a wii developed zelda or a new wii series game. I hope they arent being stupid and hinting at wii sports resort...because we've known about that for a year.

Wii Sports Resort has already been dated for the summer, and this announcement was for the fall. It's not Sports Resort.
