I played the demo finally, and I'm convinced (but it was still very, very hard). If I don't buy Scott Pilgrim instead (which depends solely on whether or not my brother will play it with me), I'm sure I'll pick it up soon.
Yeah, I might not get the WiiWare version if the size limitation is going to hurt the game significantly and it's not going to be cheaper than the other versions.
It seems they are really curious about what people think about potential purchasers. Their twitter has been asking "would you buy the WiiWare SMB if it were obviously the least ideal version, or just buy the PC version?" Also, they've also asked if people would consider purchasing a $20 retail version if it had a couple extras.
Don't take any of that information as confirmation of anything. Though tweet them with your thoughts.
I think it's a good idea to ask first though. Imagine the uproar (here, at least) if Super Meat Boy were released on WiiWare with badly downgraded graphics and fewer features for 1000pts.
too me sounds like the realease is going trough unnecessary problems due to BAD programing.
La Mulana gonna be a Huge game and we don't hear any of theese problems... Cave Story is also on the system and doenst even use the full space possible. Just to mention similar games.
This assumption is really dense. The programming itself shouldn't take much space. The graphic and sound files actually take up most space in almost every game. Cave Story and La Mulana feature 16-bit-like graphics that don't take up as much space. In addition, Super Meat Boy has cinematic cut-scenes between the levels.

I played the original, and it was immensely satisfying. I saw on Wikipedia that it was coming out for the Wii, and I got excited! I think they'll be bound to add something new, but I'm not sure what. I'm hoping DLC...

Please, never ever again encourage a developer to make DLC. (except for free one)

That seems doubtful. The developer has already put DLC on the XBLA version as an exclusive, and PC gets people the ability to make their own levels. Personally, I have no idea what they could do to really push for a Wii retail exclusive that they wouldn't want on the other versions instead. I totally expect a number of exclusive characters for Wii, yeah, but modes are confusing.
And its official. No WiiWare release for Super Meat Boy.
But they are looking at retail.

I gave up on a Wii release a few days ago and caved in on the $3.75 + exclusive playable Goo Ball PC (Steam) version. Bummer about no decent controls but this game is so good I'm ordering a gamepad just for it.
