Topic: Roy returns to Smash Bros. Brawl via hackers

Well, this is pretty sweet. I liked Roy in Melee but cutting him from Brawl was kinda harsh.

So I'm for his return.
(Though I still hate hackers... )

So what are your thoughts?

Cool. I loved to play as Roy in Melee, and I was ticked that he was cut from Brawl. /me wishes that they cut out Marth and put in Roy instead.

This should be very interesting. But let's hope Nintendo doesn't find out about those hackers, otherwise, they are in big trouble.

I'm usually against hackers, but when they actually benefit the game, that's when I make exceptions.

Why would they be in big trouble?

I wonder if they can give Roy a new Final Smash. Critical Hit just doesn't seem right for him.

No they wouldn't. Nintendo already knows about hackers and tried to brick their Wii's for it. It didn't work, remember 4.2? That, and banning them from Nintendo WFC, is as far as they will go.

That is an awesome video and makes me wish Roy was legally in Brawl.

I love the Brawl fandom. Wasn't everyone annoyed about Roy in Melee because he was basically just there as an advert for some Fire Emblem game? And then everyone was annoyed that he's not in Brawl.
And now everyone's favourite advert is back via hacking so everyone's happy.

Roy looks like a mixture of Adol and Crono. How odd.

I got warned by Chrome that there were malware issues with that page, but I clicked anyway since it was GoNintendo. Guess I should have listened. Computer froze up, and when I restarted, it blue screened. Restarted again with last known good configuration and it worked (though it loaded slowly). Just reporting this as a warning in case anyone else has problems with it.

Anyway, since I am now scared to death of clicking that link and can't see it for myself, can someone tell me if this is a mere texture hack of Marth or Ike, or did someone actually get his moves to work like Roy's, too?

Yup, the moveset was swapped with Roy's.

Roy's mah boi! (even though he sucked he was still my second fave character)

More than a texture hack, his neutral-B is much the same as it was in Melee.

Do we have to have Super Smash Bros. Brawl hacked for this?

@Adam: I got to GoNintendo and Roy is not an pallate swipe of Marth. He is in his Melee form but with better visuals.

He replaces Marth. I have the texture.

And yes, you need your Wii hacked, but I won't go any further into details because it is against the rules. This thread will probably be gone soon anyway.

@RWP: so long as you don't go into further detail about how to do it, you're good. We're all big boys (and the occasional girl) here, everyone can google things for themselves if they're that interested.

Because the game generates so much enthusiasm from its fans that they go out of their way to get more out of the game? Seems like a reason to continue the series, to me. If they want more, give them more.

His reasons were pretty clear. He said he disproves of the industry's infatuation with sequelization, and I can't blame him. Meteos was quite a cool game, though if I recall correctly it was jointly developed between him and someone else. I hope this mysterious game Project Sora's working on is revealed some time next year.

When did Sakurai said he was going to end the series?

Because unrelated people make the game much better than he could?
