Wow! So he likes the game but hates the Wii, then lets his hatred affect the review. I'm gonna avoid all Conduit info now, till it's released over here. Stop idiots like that tryin' to ruin it 4 me.
This is clearly a rushed review with a gamer that just didn't want to be bothered with this game, and a hypocrite I may add to that (refers to him complaining about the story).
How does complaining about the story make him a hypocrite? I don't know this guy's review history, but out of context it seems like a perfectly legitimate complaint.
Aside from the motion control gripe which could easily be fixed with the customizable control scheme, it seems like a pretty honest and ordinary review. I don't see why it's so bad. He also rated it pretty highly...

I wouldn't had mind if he didn't like the storyline if he didn't skip the cutscenes which is where most of the story takes place in any game.
My main gripes with this review are 1) he didn't even try out the multiplayer, 2) he skips over the cutscenes and then proceeds to complain about how the story doesn't make any sense, and 3) he complains about the controls, mentions how he was happy with the default setting and that the same controls were some of the best he's seen on the Wii, and then bad-mouths them again. Overall, this is an very poorly written review.

The part where he admitted to skipping the cutscenes. The score isn't that bad, but the review itself is one of the worst things I have ever read. He skipped major portions of the game and crammed the review together to get it out the door faster.
I'm sure he gave them a chance before skipping them. I'd do the same thing if the cutscenes were boring and showed no signs of improving. He never said he actually skipped them either, just that he was tapping the A button. In most games that just means moving ahead to the next line of dialog, not skipping everything. He could be a fast reader.
@Adam: If you're reviewing a game, you should be paying attention to the story. That's almost like saying a movie critic can ignore the story and only pay attention to the action if it starts slow.

Well who knows if he did what you just said, or blatantly just skipping them to get the game finished which I felt was his prime objective: play through the game as quickly as possible to get it over with.

Not quite precise. He complained they were boring, then tapped the A button. First of all, he gave it a chance before doing this, and secondly, tapping the A button isn't the same as skipping entirely.

That paragraph is a bit misleading at first, and I agree it's poorly written, but it doesn't make his opinion less legitimate because by the end of the paragraph you know exactly what he means, and it's reiterated in the conclusion's bulleted points:
IR aiming works well.
Motion controls for melee and grenades don't work well.
Of course, he could have just remapped those functions, so that seems like a pointless complaint to me.

Possibly, though if the cutscenes were good, he wouldn't have wanted to do this.
@ Super Pixel Man Not really an accurate comparison. The story is a lot more important to a film than a game, and they don't include fast forward buttons at the cinema either. If part of the game is determining whether you want to speed through the dialog (not skip), I think it's important to document in a review that you were inclined to do so.
I just think people are taking a review to seriously. He is just another gamer. He doesn't have any special reviewer powers that we don't have. If he felt the cut scenes sucked, that's fine. He doesn't have to watch every second of them to have an opinion.
No one has had anything positive to say about Conduit's story so far, so it's not that surprising.
As a game reviewer, you have to be willing to take the criticisms. if you're going to put your work out there for people to see, you'd better be ready to take the good AND the bad. Just part of the job.
I'm all for difference of opinions. For all I know, in the grand scheme of things Conduit may be a little generic. The whole ragging on Wii hardware and the comparisons to PS3/360 seemed a bit harsh though. Plus from what I read of it he makes being like Goldeneye seem like a bad thing. Heck, my favorite FPS of all time is Perfect Dark. I wonder in the end will anyone give the game a score higher than IGN. It currently has a Metacritic score of 79.
I also noticed he's the 2nd reviewer to say gernade controls don't work well. I wonder how do you screw up a simple nunchuck shake?
Well, he did say that some would appreciate the comparisons to Perfect Dark. And honestly, I do, too. It's the only thing keeping me interested in the game, and despite my many nagging doubts, I can't wait to give it a fair(er) shot.
Of course, if I had a 360, I'd just wait for the Perfect Dark remake, but I don't.
