I'm was wondering the same thing, romulux, and I hope that there is an option to play without load outs or any of the perks and levels...

Also, I was looking up the pre-order with the golden CC Pro and thought it was bull that it costs $70, especially when the same bundle for Monster Hunter Tri costs the regular $50 (and I'm pretty sure that MHT has the most content out of the two games). So, a gold coat of paint costs $20? No, thanks, I'll go for the game by itself, especially since I'll be gaming with the Wiimote + nunchuck...

interesting sound design interview

all the different sound effects that'll play depending on your actions in the game are pretty cool.

It seems the game has leaked(or at least the opening) and well there's a good surprise for the theme song.

still a no effort cash in though.

U mad?

I'm all like this Untitled

(I'm being sarcastic because some people still insist it's a no effort cash in despite all the evidence to the contrary).

i actually haven't heard that in a while. either the previews are working or the haters just got bored and moved on to something else.

while not directly related to the new game, the original director of goldeneye and perfect dark had some things to say about the stale state of FPS recently- http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=271542 . he basically says that they've been treading water with the same concepts for a long while, which doesn't take an acclaimed FPS maker to tell you. his feelings on the remake are said to be mixed, but there's no further talk about why. my guess is that he dislikes seeing his game adopt those homogenized modern FPS mechanics while still appreciating the care being put into making it something great otherwise.

Seems like they have pretty high sales expectations: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=271029
I would love this game to sell well (I know I'm getting the special edition version), but I just don't see it happening. Unless they really start stepping it up with television adverts I think this will sell rather poorly. Sure, Quantum of Solace sold well, but the movie it was based on was actually, you know, in theaters at the time.

It is James Bond, though. Perhaps I'm underestimating the brand name.

I think you might be, especially when you consider that Goldeneye itself is a massive brand and kid's have probably heard about the original from their brothers/cousins/fathers(!) and will probably want to try it out. In fact I think this could kind off appeal to some of the NSMB Wii crowd... I think Pachter referred to them as Nintendads? Older gamers who might not game as much any more but might pick up the game because they recognise it and can share it with their kids.

The game looks pretty damn amazing. Can't wait now.

Also it might be the quality of the video... but this:

...looks like HDR lighting... which I'm fairly sure the Wii can't do.... I am confused.

Maybe it's just a pre-rendered cienmatic FMV or so...

No, because after the screen I posted Bond draws his gun and the HUD appears, it's gameplay.

But I'm not sure if it is HDR, it has the deep darks but I'm not sure if it has the bright light... also there is a the glare in the scene just before that... I think it may be affected by the quality of the video but it seems Eurocom has but quite a bit effort of at least emulating part of the look.... then again it IS the Dead Space: Extraction engine so advanced lighting is to be expected.

Who said that the Wii couldn't do amazing things? Developers need to innovate, to improve, and the create. A developer who ignores the boundaries and creates with the best of his ability can do anything. And it truly looks like Eurocom has pushed themselves in the making of this game. Thank you Eurocom. I will gladly enjoy this game.

Well it is coming the 2nd to NA and I hope to see a review from the guys here at NL soon, and don't need to wait 15 or more days to see a review (like what happened with Super Scribblenauts, and the review isn't out yet!)

I checked with James and we actually do have someone on Super Scribblenauts--fear not!
And I'm pretty sure we'll get a review copy of this. I imagine Eurocom will want to generate some serious hype.
