I really don't like MK64 that much. I've tried to like it, but I just can't. Some tracks are really unfair. You have to take a jump a full speed. If you get shot before the jump you are screwed. I also got pushed through the guard rails a couple of times. Some tracks are pretty boring too. Rainbow Road is terrible. I love Rainbow Road in every Mario Kart game, but this is such a disappointment. But it's not a bad game, but for me the worst in the series.

That's what I loved about Mario Kart 64 and the SNES version! Actually having to have good aim of the green turtle to stuff up your opponent! But you wouldn't be able to have that in MKWii because of all the cheap weapons and the increased number of people.

The double dash Battle Mode is amazing, I miss the online modes though.

In my opinion, MK Wii is better for one or two players, but MK:DD! for three or more players (up to eight with LAN).

Wow. When DD appeared everybody hated it...

...now is loved by everyone?

WTH?!

@Fuzzy. Sure when you shoot. But when you are number one. And just before the big jump (with boots pads) you get shot. When you go for the jump, you don't make it and you're last. Or you turn around, drive back turn around again and drive the same route again only to become last. Mario Kart on the SNES didn't have that problem and that was a great game.

Mario Kart DS is my all time favorite, with Double Dash at second. Double Dash through WarpPipe was sweet.

MK Wii is just too random, has a crappy selection of tracks, and it seems like every character's voice got butchered some how. Did Charles Martinet lose his motivation or what?

Wii all the way. i never really liked double dash. the controls just seemed imprecise to me... slippery kinda.

Actually one major thing I prefer about MKW is how much snaking got nerfed. I didn't have anything against it but I'm lazy and it was a lot of effort

Outrunner

I like 'em both but Wii is my fave. The online is great fun and I like the tricks. Also, retro tracks are brill.

Considering I haven't played Mario Kart Wii yet, I'll have to vouch for Double Dash, which is perhaps the second and third best racer after Super Mario Kart (and Mario Kart 64).

To each their own

I'll give the edge to Double Dash because the tracks, graphics and gameplay were better. OTOH Mario Kart Wii does have that great online and I like the tricks--even though on some tracks you'll make better time if you don't go out of your way to do them. I really don't get what's up with the graphics on Mario Kart Wii though--it seems like there was some kind of effect they were going for and it failed miserably. They're not bad, they just don't look right. And the less said about the crowds in the bleachers, the better.

That said, right now I'm mostly playing MKW because of the online and just because the tracks are ones I haven't played quite so many times.

I second that! I wouldn't say MK64 was the worst of them, that'd probably be Super Mario Kart, which itself isn't too bad. The N64 one gave us more realistic courses, with obstacles like cars and trains and such. Mario Kart DS was fun, and gave us retro tracks as well as new ones and let us do versus in 1 player mode!

But I personally did not favor Mario Kart DS. I didn't like the selection it gave as far as characters and tracks. I would have liked if Koopa was a playable character, or if I could play as Shy Guy in 1 player mode. And I really didn't like the selection of retro tracks so much. Luigi Circuit, Mushroom Bridge, were ok, but Baby Park? Moo Moo Farm? Banshee Boardwalk? Come on!

Personally, I think the retro track selection in Mario Kart Wii is much better. Though I would have liked to see Kalamari Desert, Toad's Turnpike, and maybe even Royal Raceway, I was glad to see Mario Raceway, DK's Jungle Parkway, and the N64 Bowser's Castle. And it has Koopa!

So Mario Kart Wii and Double Dash are my favorite ones!
