I think you're closer to the mark. I don't see anything fabulous coming our way either. Heck, just give me a free T-shirt and I would call it even.
The redemable prizes are lame as is now. I don't know why they don't give out better things then cards or wiimote holders. Lame.

I don't know if they do this in the USA, but in the UK club Nintendo you can now get 50 Stars (coins) for taking surveys regarding many of your VC and WiiWare titles (interestingly automatically included in your game registry viewable when you select My Account). I'm getting hundreds of stars for games I bought many months ago, which is super sweet. Now I'm over 1000!
@Sean: for the US, it's 10 coins per post-play survey, which is the only survey eligible Wiiware/DSiware/VC games will get you (here, at least).

Looks like when I'm done I'll have something in the neighbourhood of 2000 Stars. If true I've got some hard decisions to make: do I want a 500 point virtual Nintendo Points card or a Club Nintendo mug...I'm strongly leaning towards the latter.
In the past I've always bought 100 points whenever I could; but recently I decided to save my Stars with titles like Excite Bots (NoE don't let me down!) and Punch Out!! as well as the possibility of Chibi Robo NPC and who knows what else, just to see what other swag I could get. Besides I have plenty of points and don't need more at the moment...
I'm quite jealous of the hanafuda cards in NA as we don't have those here that I've seen. I've checked the list up to 3000 stars and the mug looks like the best thing on offer, so I'll go for that.
I think the prize will be a voucher to download Mother 3 for DSiWare.

I'm still avoiding guessing for the time being, because it's easier to not be disappointed that way. It better be SOMETHING good, given the hundreds of dollars you have to spend to even GET that many coins!

Does the Gold/Platinum membership only apply to North America/Japan as I have been checking the European Club Nintendo and can see no info relating to this?
honestly after some thought I think the prize will be the option of a free wii-motion plus or something else. I mean, think about it.
It comes out around the same time that they would ship the gifts, and if they put enough motion pluses in homes the games for it will sell. I dunno I could be completely wrong too.

Dude, it's free stuff. How can it disappoint? Reached Platinum today by filling out the remaining surveys I had. Gifts coming my way. I'll still be saving up coins for those hanafuda cards, though. Only 200 more to go.

I just got gold status with all my purchases over the last 2 years. Nintendo points would be ideal, but it will probably be some stupid exclusive thing that's as useless as that Wiimote holder.
