@Starboy. Man you are just too nice!! Don't you get mad at anything?????

What's this bit for again?

StarBoy91

Naw, I just try to be as nice and polite as possibly can be, and be tolerant to others' point of views.

This feels like a gaming confessional
Games need to be linear for me to like them.

There's something about Civilization Revolution for the DS that was very tedious to me. I only played it the first two days I had it.

The Paper Mario series. I don't like the battle system. Also, if I'm going to be reading that much I'd rather pick up a book. My brother has owned them all so I've tried them but I just couldn't get into them.

Zelda OoT. I loved LoZ 1&2 and ALTTP, but I had a severe dislike of the N64 at the time and was all about Playstation when it came out and had no desire to play it, despite everyone creaming over it.
Flash forward a few years later, '01 I believe, and I got a used N64 and picked up OoT for 5 bucks...... and it just collected dust as I played Perfect Dark instead.
Just last year I FINALLY popped OoT in to see what all of the fuss was about. After several hours of play I realized I prefer the 2D games.

God of War series
Paper Mario series
Final Fantasy series, including Crystal Chronicles

J_Bitties

Zelda Series (fun when I was a kid, but now they play like Playskool's My First RPG), Mario 3D series, and GTA series.

So, what your saying is, it is a weak for a RPG? It isn't a RPG though.

Personally, (get your pitchforks ready) I never really liked Fallout 3.

  • Banjo-Kazooie(I can tell it's a good game, but it's way too kiddie for me. Thankfully the sequel is notably darker)
  • Goldeneye 007(I can see why people like it, since the base gameplay is good, and I'd imagine that the multiplayer would be fun, but the singleplayer mode is pure garbage. One of the worst I've ever played, besides Black and Timeshift)
  • Final Fantasy 6(There's no other way for me to say this: from my experience with it, it's an overrated pile of crap. There were no good qualities whatsoever to salvage from it)
  • Majora's Mask(worst Zelda game I've ever played)
  • LoZ: Phantom Hourglass(second worst, if only because having a whole game like the stupid stealth section in Wind Waker just isn't my thing)
  • The World Ends With You(best soundtrack since Sonic Adventure 2, but the gameplay is far too complex for me to handle, and I don't dig the Japanese pop culture themes)
  • Super Mario 64(I want to like it, because the stage design is great, and so is the main gameplay, but the controls and camera made it more trouble than it's worth. Back in the day, it was just "too hard". Nowadays, after all the improvements that have been made to the genre, it just feels broken)
  • Team Fortress 2(THE most boring FPS I have ever played. I've tried really hard to like it, but not once have I experienced anything that even resembled fun with it)
  • Left4Dead(It's a game where you have to rely on others for support. Unfortunately, I've yet to play with anyone who is even remotely reliable)
  • Half-Life 2(It was great up until the Zombies. Then the funfactor took a swan-dive into a deep, dark, spikey abyss where there was no hope of ever getting out...and my interest in the game, along with the game itself, soon followed)
  • Forza Motorsports 2(ARRRRRRGUE! THE most frustrating racing game I have ever played! I mean, I like realistic racers, but that game just raised the bar way too high. You had to be absolutely perfect just to finish a race at all. I can't even imagine what it would take to get in first place)
  • Pure(I dunno, I just found myself kinda disappointed with it. I think I forgot how annoying landing tricks properly was before I played it. Well, I'll never forget it again, that's for sure)
  • GRID(Second most frustrating Racing game I've ever played. It wasn't that bad, but drifting was too easy and annoying. It's like your car had no weight or traction to it whatsoever.)
  • Final Fantasy 12(I didn't play very much of it, but I didn't really like the gameplay at all, and the story was really boring, and none of the characters were all that likeable, IMO)
  • Star Ocean: Till The End of Time(Dear lord was this a disappointment. I thought it would be some kind of sci-fi epic, but in the end, it was just another average romp through ancient Europe with Knights and wizards and ****. Except this time you were doing it on another planet. Whoopie. And occasionally you'd run into guys with guns...that are somehow less useful than swords and axes, and bare hands for that matter)
  • Star Wars: Rogue Squadron(Eh, it wasn't bad, but I've played much better flight-action games in my day. It really hasn't aged very well, IMO.)
  • Super Mario RPG(It was okay, but it played too much like your standard RPG, and the few things it did that made it unique just agrivated me to no end)
  • Tales Series(They're too samey, the gameplay is too mashy, your partners are incompitent, and I've yet to see any one of them that had even a halfway decent storyline. Plus, I hate the generic anime themes the series prides itself on)
  • Old-school Fallout(The combat just didn't sit well with me. I guess I was disappointed that they weren't shooters like Fallout 3)
  • Guitar Hero(I really, really hate using that stupid plastic guitar)
  • SSX 3(Turns out I really don't like snowboarding games)
  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare(I never expected to like it, but after all the hype, I figured I had to give it a try. Still did not like it, no matter how much I tried to get into it. Online modes were boring, I didn't really like the perk system, and I found most of the weapons pretty boring to use. I've never been a big fan of Call of Duty, but that one had to be the worst out of them...although I do still need to play the singleplayer mode before I condemn it entirely)
  • Star Wars Battlefront: Rogue Squadron(The controls sucked, you had very limited draw distance, and there are so many hackers it's absolutely rediculous!)
  • Golden Sun(I still need to play more of it, but at the time of writing, I personally found myself disappointed with it. I really couldn't get into the story at all, although it was a lot more mature than I expected it to be. I've yet to see much of the gameplay yet, though, so maybe that'll turn things around)
  • Valkyrie Profile(I can't even remember what was supposed to be so great about this game. The cutscenes just drag on and on and on, and the characters are so dull and unappealing that I just find it impossible to care about anything that's going on in the game. The battle system that was so lawded turned out to be absolutely horrendous, and even the platforming sections got on my nerves. Oh, and did I mention the whole game is on a freakin' time limit, too? Easily one of the worst RPGs I've played yet. I seriously don't see what was supposed to be so freakin' great about it)

@Mickeymac Boy you sure are hard to please ain't ya?

What's this bit for again?

StarBoy91

I love history. It's just, after awhile, Civilization Revolution DS became redundant.
I respect your opinion, Mickey.

I'm not a big FPS fan, don't mind the odd game now and again but I certainly can't sit for hours on end playing online, also I am another person who has never really been into the Smash Bros series, maybe I just never played them enough or wasn't good at them but I could never figure out what was going on or what buttons to press so just ended up mashing all the buttons. The Zelda games are another series that whilst I don't dislike, I don't see why they are held in such high regard.

Some pretty controversial choices there but hey, I can't force myself to like stuff just because everybody else does.

For every good game, there's a hundred bad ones. Odds are you're gonna run into some of those eventually. I'm not hard to please, I'm just really unlucky.
