The Last of Us is hardly overrated but this is a brand specific website so statement like that don't surprise me. Both these games are about as different as could be but if I could only pick one to play it'd be The Last of Us without question. ZombiU had some cool ideas but unsurprisingly Ubisoft didn't deliver the killer app the game could've been. Reminds me a lot of the original Red Steel. Lots of potential, decent game but hardly a system seller. Fortunately RS 1 sold well enough that we got a second game which was awesome. I'm not sure ZombiU sold well enough for Ubi to consider giving the team a second shot at delivering the 'definitive' survival/horror experience, but hopefully something happens so we do get to see a sequel.
You're reasoning is like saying Mario is better than Uncharted because it's pure jumping. The comparison makes no sense, it's fine if you like one more than the other, but this comes across as "our exclusive is better than your exclusive."
You just proved you haven't played The Last of Us.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Aw comeon guys even the main character looks like Drake ...... ZU is way more original.
I get what you are saying and it makes a lot of sense.
That also means that Zelda games are really Mario games but with a green hat and a sword. Since it's made by the same people.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I'm gonna agree with @Jaz007 on this one; both games are different in their design such that it's not really ideal or useful to compare them. ZombiU is going for classic survival horror (room-by-room progression, every enemy is a threat, etc.) whereas The Last Of Us is the culmination of trends that triple-A developers have been obsessed with for the past console generation. Sure, they're both linear and involve zombies, but besides that they don't have much in common.

ZombiU is better for me because I will want to play it every Halloween for as long as my Wii U is hooked up. It gets right into the action and is endlessly replayable. The gameplay isn't perfect, but for me it hits that sweet spot of accessibility, difficulty, and intensity that I covet. Not having to wade through cutscenes , tutorials, or convoluted mechanics makes it an experience I will not only long savor, but also crave in the future.
Alternatively, reliving the dire, melodramatic story of The Last of Us is tedious and draining. Both games are oppressive, but in TLoU a lot of that atmosphere comes from plot and character development. The gameplay just doesn't hold up, honestly not even over the course of a single play through if you aren't completely enamored with the story and ambiance. Especially not when a game like Resident Evil 4 exists and is likewise waiting to played each and every fall.
ZombiU is pure survival . this game is so underrated.
What do you think?
This is definitely true. I played Zombi U and was amazed.
I then played TLOU and was very disappointed.
Zombi U manages to keep you on your toes, to really be "frightened" from Zombies. TLOU is mostly about shooting other humans and bringing ladders and planks. It's boring and monotonous. The story and voice acting are good though, but that last scene with The Prepper and the tv sets gives me chills every time too. All in all, Zombi U is a perfect 10, TLOU is a 7.

"Better" is a subjective term that is mainly based on one's preferences. Two different games can still be comparable
