ZombiU is one of the few games I've played that's scared me. Especially in survival mode, where every encounter is a test of "how do I survive this?" Intense isn't a word I throw about lightly, but ZombiU has that in spades.
At this point I think it's just desperation talking here. Listen, I get it. We all want the Wii U to reign supreme. We are all on this forum because we care about Nintendo and want them to do well. But seriously, comparing ZombiU to The Last of Us is like comparing CD-i Zelda to Ocarina of Time.

Bit harsh to be calling tLoU the CD-i Zelda of the PS3/4.
The games are comparable on the most vital level, enjoyment.. If the poster got more enjoyment out of ZU than tLoU, then, yes, ZU is the better game for them. That's how I can say Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is a better game than CoD 1, 2 and 4 combined, and be 100% correct, because I got more enjoyment out of DBZBT3 than the other 3.

I don't think you're giving Zombie U a fair shake
I mean, if you ignore critic scores, user reviews, industry awards, and sales, those two games are practically on the same plane. Practically a toss-up

Wow, that counter-argument is truly riveting. I don't think I can look at anything the same way again. I mean, "hahahaha" truly encompasses all that we need to know when it comes to these games and the comparison between the two. Once again, @Chrono_Cross, thank you for changing my life with this post.

Or is it the fact you don't like me? lol. What will I do with myself?
I thought ZombiU was a decent game. The controls were pretty clunky, but otherwise it was ok. They both have their fair share of criticism, IMO. I think TLOU would have been better if they allowed a similar gameplay style as ZombiU, via PS Vita.
Sales and reviews don't always determine what is a good game.
I always bring this point up, which is opinionated, but Dead Space 2, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted 2, and Ratchet & Clank all got good scores on websites, but I still didn't like them. The same scenario can happen for anything. Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc. all get good scores, but if you still don't like said game, it doesn't matter anyway.
I would rather play ZombiU than any of the games I just listed, high review score or not,

TLOU should be lowered to a 4.5/10 or close to 5... It's not really a game but more of an interactive made for TV drama
From strictly a game play stand point, what exactly does TLOU do that's new(not that it has to, but..)? it seems to tread familiar ground with many other games before it. And it seems like it's gaining a lot of praise because of it's story, cut scenes, voice acting and visuals, not to mention i've heard it's not too challenging and the AI can be a bit ridiculous at times. BTW, have you played through the game yet all mighty Mabster?
As for zombiU, it looks far more appealing to me....Mainly because it's a 'first person' survival horror game and seems to make clever innovative use with the gamepad, bringing new ideas to the table that we've never seen before, which again, can only be experienced on Wii U.
I'm gathering you haven't played either of these games. Thanks for weighing in with your speculation as to which game "seems" better.
I own both.
The Last of Us is a fantastic piece of interactive fiction that was more entertaining and engaging than a lot of hollywood movies I've seen recently, and controlled just as tightly as the majority of the AAA titles around. I know some of you kids who have grown up in the Nintendo vacuum tend to freak out at the possibility of lengthy bits of recorded dialogue or violence, but the story telling on display here is possibly the best we've ever had. Also, the tension this game builds is friggin amazing.
I really really wanted to like ZombiU. I bought it at launch, I read all the reviews comparing it to Dark Souls (which is in my top 5 games of all time), but it just didn't happen. The gameplay was clunky. The environments were super linear and bland as hell. There was little to no sense of reward or purpose other than "Just keep going farther." In the end it just felt like mindless crap that left little to no influence on me the moment I turned it off.
EDIT: I will give credit to ZombiU for at least attempting asymmetrical gameplay in the multiplayer mode, but even that was not very satisfying after about 15 minutes.

Yeah, but I suppose the Playstation masses can just kick back and ingest large quantities of Mountain Spew & Doritos before getting to those short gameplay sections

Just because other people do it doesn't mean that it's okay for you to. I know that this is a completely opinion-driven topic, but "hahahaha" gets us nowhere. The reason you have been singled out is because I see you and your cohorts doing stuff like this ALL THE TIME!
But anyway, I guess I'll stop there. Say what you want, but I don't want to derail this thread.

No need to call people out on it. If you truly have such a big problem with it, report it and move along, or ignore it and move along.
As you said yourself, say what you want.

Zombi U is great but flawed and The Last of Us is also great without any major flaws.
Hello Kitty Cruisers owns both of them
The Last of Us is not even consistent the whole way through. (The first part is miles better than the rest of the game). It is flawed because it is boring after the first part. (Now if they had waited until the whole thing was of the same quality that would have been a truly great game).
