In my point of view, yes the mouse/keyboard controls are great, I'd used to play a lot of fps games like wolsfestein, doom, quake and the mouse works great; but for the consoles world the wiimote plus is the most realistic and confortable control that I've used; the best examples must be Skyward Sword and that version of Deadspace for wii, wich is a great game and the motion controls are used in the most natural way posible.

I know what Dead Space game you're talking about. It's the one that's on rails and you just point and shoot everything. Have you played the PS3 Move version? Is it any good?

Have you played Metroid Prime 3 and experienced those controls set in 'advanced' dude it's a must!

Yes. Aiming with precision and accuracy is a must for any shooter, something you can't really get with analog aiming.

I can't believe I traded in my copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy. Now it's over $80 for a new copy. Damn limited edition... Hopefully Nintendo will put the game on the Wii U Shop, so I won't have to go on eBay or Amazon to pay inflated prices for a disc copy.

i still think mouse is the king for aiming. keyboard for movement isnt the best but it works well for most games. wii remote is a good balance, analog is better for movement and is much easier on the hands and touch screen-only controls can go die. stupid ipod and iphone arent gaming devices.

Wow the controller isn't that big at all. Either that, or that guy's hands are huge.

I think that for games like Zelda, Nintendo will switch between the controls schemes. When Link walks around in the open, you'll use the Wii Remote as a sword, but in other stages, for example, when you are in a vehicle of some sort, and I have lots of ideas here, you will switch to the Tablet. Also, you will be able to access inventory always on the tablet if you choose, but that would be optional. By including in every Wii U a wii remote plus, a nunchuk and a tablet, Nintendo basically covered that ground by being able to lead you everywhere with any device that they want.

Not only does the 3DS come with an SD card, but it also happens to come pre-installed with one, additional dimension.

And I haven't played Moster Hunter Tri and i never will. Besides as far as controls go, i'm guessing it has zero pointer or motion controls going on so what exactly would be the point of even using the Wii remote nunchuck anyways?

Interestingly, and I was shocked to find this out, MH Tri has pointer controls, which you still have to use, even if you use the CC Pro controls, which I did It's only for checking information about the monsters and collecting them, but it's pointer controls, and from what I saw, it's only possible with the pointer. Quite unique. [agree about everything else you wrote, btw]

Maybe they can have multiple SKUs like Sony and Microsoft. The NES also had multiple bundles back when it launched.

Bundle 1 (for those who already have a Wii):

  • Wii U console
  • Wii U controller
  • Game disc
  • 16GB SD card
  • Minimum price: $300

Bundle 2 (for those who never had a Wii):

  • Wii U console
  • Wii U controller
  • Wii Remote and sensor bar
  • Game disc and Voucher to download Wii Sports Resort from the Wii U shop
  • 16GB SD card
  • Minimum price: $400

....Wat? o.0

I think he's talking about the price situation and the way Nintendo had to have the price drop for the 3DS.

EDIT: Now that I think about it... I'm not so sure anymore.

Nah, Nintendo has learned and it making sure the same thing doesn't happen. Reggie did promise a strong launch line up of games, plus I did read articles that Nintendo MIGHT sell the Wii U at a loss from the start, but we won't know for sure until E3.

I think the reason why the Wii U is longer than the original Wii is because all the heat is pushed to the back through some sort of channel, like a large heatsink.

Yes I've played Metroid Prime 3, I've totally forget it, yes the controlls are amazing in this game. How cool could be a HD remake of the entire prime series as a one huge game.

No, I haven't played the ps3 version, so my brother have it, but I'd think that he never play it. But the wii version is so cool, there is very nice graphics and a very anxious atmosphere.

I have played the PS3 version of Dead Space and to be honest it looks exactly the same as the Wii version just a tiny bit sharper the graphics are unchanged

The 360 controller would be perfect if the D-pad wasn't terrible. Do they have the new d-pads sold as "main" controllers and not special editions like my brother has?

In regards to WiiU, to be honest, the design of the console still looks like it's not final... Then again, it probably will be, since when Nintendo showed the Wii as Revolution in 2005, it didn't change much at all from the final.. besides them going for white over black.

Same with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of GoldenEye. They look just a bit better than the Wii version. Everything looks sharper and some of the textures are more detailed, but other then that the graphics are the same.

Yes they have the new D-pad controllers sold separately, but they cost over $60, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I doubt it would ever be that cheap. I can see $350 & $450 though. That's my guess.

$350 I can see, but anything over $400 is just Nintendo pricing themselves out of the market. It would be the PS3 all over again. I would never pay over $400 for a game system.

They desparete needs to place the console in a lot of homes and then sell a lot of games...maybe, just maybe there would be a big surprise with the price.

I'll pay up to $600, here in Australia, on day one... Although I'd probably pay even more if it was the only way to get it.
