It just boggles my mind that hey decided to port handheld games on the Wii U. My main issues with this are.....
1.Why put a handheld game on a console? Most GBA games were SNES ports like Super Mario Advance 2 so why would you put that into a console which already has that version. Its bad enough that they are porting DS games on the Wii U but GBA????
2.Its because of this that I now have to get the Wii U really fast(And yes I HAVE STILL YET TO GET IT!!!) Granted, I would've wanted it cause of games like 3D world but this is too much! XD
3.3DS already had GB and GBC games so what is GBA's excuse? And don't say that the 3DS is not powerful enough to handle GBA!!!!!! Infact the Ambassador program just gave ten i repeat 10 GBA GAMES!!!!!!
its sensible to have GCN games on Wii U but then again, due to the control problems, i doubt if it will ever happen.
Seriously though, why GBA on Wii U of all the things you'd hate??????????? XD
To get more content on Wii U because it needs that. That's it, that's the reason. That and to make up for the fact that N64 VC wouldn't matter (gonna try to get every penny out of the Star Fox and OOT 3D versions aren't they?) and GCN VC likely isn't happening.

I could never work this out. I got all of those games and I didn't pay anything for them (directly) plus I've had them for a good few years now. Why would I then complain about the ability for someone else to buy it? Especially if it meant that my version of it was updated like the NES VC titles were.
That said having all of the Ambassador games I probably ended up playing the NES games more. F-Zero was nice and I played through Minish Cap and Metroid but other than that. I spent more time on the NES games.

I think you just answered your own question. There's plenty of 3ds systems out there, Nintendo is trying to convince people to buy a Wii U and releasing gba vc games exclusively on the system might be the thing to push people to buy it.
Nintendo mentioned that GBA games are coming to 3DS eventually. Some people never owned a GBA(or the first two DS models) so they missed out on a good library of games. There are also people that aren't really handheld gamers so they apperciate handheld games on their console.

Nope that was the NES games. Nintendo said they have no plans on bringing GBA to the 3DS eShop.

Already lost me there. Only a small fraction of GBA games were SNES ports.
Two things that boggle MY mind:
1. Why does it boggle so many people's mind that GBA games are coming to WiiU rather than 3DS? The WiiU is in need of content. The 3DS is not. Easy as that.
2. Why are so many people suddenly claiming that Nintendo would have ever said they were bringing GBA games to GBA? They never said that. In fact, they were very clear about keeping the GBA ambassador games entirely exclusive to ambassadors.
Because the Wii U needs all the support it can get and the 3DS doesn't.
Nintendo has to carefully play their chips due to the Wii U failing (sales wise) thus far, thus any little effort to garner interest will be given to the Wii U.
Putting GBA and DS on the Wii U gives more incentive to purchase one.
Nintendo isn't having trouble selling 3ds consoles, if they were they'd release these games on both consoles.
You have to keep in mind though; the 3DS gets far more full title games than the Wii U (look at 2013 and even this year!). I'd much rather have the amount of full fledged games that the 3DS receives on the Wii U, rather than old virtual console games but it's not going to happen because of the costs of making games on an HD console..
To those of you who say that Wii U at the moment needs content, GBA isn't going to do anything to improve sales of the system nor does it make people get the Wii U except to those who love GBA myself included.
You can say the same thing with 3DS and it would mean nothing. The only reason why 3DS had lots of content was because it had great first-party games and this Ambassador program. Since the Wii U at the moment does not have an Ambassador program, its not going to motivate people to get the Wii U really fast.
Secondly the idea of putting GBA on Wii U just to make up for the content is just plain stupid. N64 games are already good enough for the Wii U as well as SNES games so why bother putting GBA in it? the Wii U already has exclusive content in it like NES Remix.
More games like Smash and MK8 are on the way to make up the loss. Putting GBA games on a console destroys the portability. Also if you're complaining so much of the screen size, how come you've not complained so much on NES or GBC games that show up on 3DS?
If this is Nintendo's effort of making sales for the Wii U go up, this isn't good enough because a lot of people are already convinced that they rather wait for the games to be launched on 3DS instead.
