The NES on 3DS has no bearing, because the Wii U has NES, too. But now GBA will only be on Wii U, and that's what makes no sense to me. DS on Wii U makes more sense, because the 3DS can already play DS games, without needing VC.

My concern is how horrible and pixelated a 240 x 160 screen is going to look on a HDTV. Leads me to believe they will box the image in maybe with a image of a GBA around it or expect people to play it on the gamepad. Will be interesting to see.

Nintendo should've put GBA games on Xbox One. What a wasted oopportunity.

Yeah, I'll probably pretty much only play GBA games on the gamepad. Another thing that might make it look bad is a lot of early GBA games would give characters bright outlines (due to the original GBA not having a backlight).

I'm sure 3DS will get GBA games in time, but right now they want to entice people into buying a Wii U. Not that GBA games are a determining factor, but it is helpful.

Why are so many people suddenly claiming that Nintendo would have ever said they were bringing GBA games to GBA? They never said that. In fact, they were very clear about keeping the GBA ambassador games entirely exclusive to ambassadors.

It boggles my mind how often I read someone claiming Nintendo said something when in fact they never did.

Years ago, when the Game Boy Player came out, it increased my GBA playing time because I only wanted to play it on the television.

For those unaware, the Game Boy Player was attached to the bottom of a GameCube and allowed players to play GB and GBA games directly on the TV. I loved it and ever since Nintendo announced that they were working to put GBA games on the Wii U VC, I have been anticipating the day.

I didn't have any problem with Super Game Boy and the GBA adapter for Gamecube, so I don't see why this should be any worse...

I never had a issue with the player either, but was using a SDTV at the time. Even current NES games look pixelated I just thought with the lower resolution it would be much much worse. Not trying to be negative about it. I'm sure I will get a few of the games. However I still would of preferred N64, Gamecube VC announcements over this.

I'm sure they'd fix the resolution before each release. Perhaps that was part of the wait

I don't hate this idea like most do. I don't really play portables. Got a GBA at launch and really only played it till I completed Advance Wars when it came out. So I look forward to it. I saw the GBA had plenty of great games but just never do use any handheld I purchase much. That's why the GBA was the last handheld I got.

Did import few games for it but yet again failed to play them much.

I don't know what's to complain about here. The GBA games are coming to the Wii U.... so? I think a better question would be "Why aren't the GBA games coming to the 3DS?" No offense, but you kinda sound like a whiny kid who says "You shouldn't have this. I should have it for me only. It's mine, all MINE!"

That's the logic for a lot of people that complain about Nintendo lol.

Don't get me wrong, I understand Nintendo has their faults.

To get more content on Wii U because it needs that. That's it, that's the reason. That and to make up for the fact that N64 VC wouldn't matter (gonna try to get every penny out of the Star Fox and OOT 3D versions aren't they?) and GCN VC likely isn't happening.

Agreed.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Is this going to be Nintendo IPs only on GBA VC? I ask because Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Tactics Ogre Advance, and Super Gunstar Heroes Advance would be perfect.

MAB

They put GBA on Wii U because they know the MAB will actually play it on that system instead of trying to find my 3DS under the massive dirt pile accumulated after 2 years of nonuse

I don't get one thing. Why does it take so long for Nintendo to emulate games when they can just sue the emulators and use their engine to release all their games on it?

To me, I honestly don't really care about how pixelated its gonna be when playing the game on the 3DS or if the game is stretched as long as it doesn't blur the quality too much. I really love GBA and one of the reasons why is that you can play it on the go. And I don't really think the pixellation is the big deal here. its only the portability that's the real problem.

If Nintendo made another gamepad where it is portable like GBA, then I won't mind about this fact. But the thing is they are not gonna do that for a very long time which by then they would start making their next gen system.

Because Nintendo, that's why silly.

Ehhhh... I prefer portable but since I plan to own a Wii U anyway it makes no difference which system the games are on as long as I actually get them.
