Too much unfounded speculation here. Currently Nintendo is doing very well. It is in the beginning of a cycle which looks very promising with the new Wii U. It has no debts and is financially solid. Who knows if it will looking for buyers in 10 years.
Who knows where Apple will be. Apple might decline or crush like many before. Nobody can tell.

It's not at one time. It is the reality. Nintendo is larger than Sony. It is worth 2 billion more. Nintendo's market cap is 16 billion and Sony 14.

@MadAussieBloke I'm sure you can get costs down by 2020,you don't want another 3DS launch.I think you could replace the human sized charging cradle with a long range infra-red dog/cat peTometer™ charger.Attach it to a stray and you have 24 hour charging.Family and environmentally friendly,maybe Nintendo would snap this up after all.

How xoes nintendo ot having debts prove there healthy. By that logic rim shouldnt be falling into a death grip as they still have comr cash left and no debt.

I could see this being nintendos last cinsole. If they decide to go with the tradtional 5 year time line agakn I can see it hurting them. Also tbe Handheld space is slowly dying and will only be relevant in one country for thr most part.

Seriously? The debt is only one factor. RIM is laying off 30% of its workforce and does not have any projections as to when it will cease to incur huge operating losses. What are you comparing this situation to? Nintendo had a healthy business AND no debts.

I think theblackdragon should change the title of this forum to What Will Come After the Next Generation of Consoles? because someone always starts a forum about Nintendo's downfall...and how Nintendo might be bought out by Company X or Company Y...then the trolls...and then we end up reading the same thread we already had with all of the Nintendo hate...

What will come after 720 and PS4? If the Wii U's graphics are only slightly better than PS360, what will the PS4 and 720 be able to do? Will they ONLY bring newer crisper graphics to the table? Nothing else? Seriously though, that's all that has happened between PS1, PS2, and PS3 and Xbox and Xbox 360. Graphics. Same controller, same games, better graphics. Nintendo has upgraded the graphics and used the same games, but changed controllers between their systems thus offering different methods of play.

Example: NES had D-pad , two face buttons, Start, and Select. The SNES added two more face buttons and two shoulder buttons. The N64 added the two more buttons with the C-button layout, added an analog stick, and added the Z trigger. The GCN allowed use of the analog stick, D-pad, L, R, Z, A, B, and C-stick simultaneously along with a new controller layout that brought back the X and Y buttons.. The Wii used motion controls primarily and introduced the Home button to Nintendo. And now the Wii U is bringing clickable analog sticks and touchscreeen gaming to Nintendo home consoles.

I think Nintendo will be able to keep going for a while down the road with their home consoles. Hell, maybe they'll even be able to do the Virtual Boy the right way in the future. And no the 3DS doesn't count as the "right" Virtual Boy.

Not always. I can assure you that I have a hell of a lot of fun playing Resident Evil DS as opposed to Resident Evil Zero. Better graphics, not a better experience in my opinion. They're both great games, but I like Resident Evil DS more.

So what you are saying is nintendo does the same stuff over and over with minimal graphical differences but giving me a different way to jump.

And As far as I can tell kinect is a different way to play games and the forst xbox gave us the ability to play online with friends. Also this generation we have got downloadable games on the console space have we not.

You get that problem when comparing two different games.

Kinect wasn't the primary way to play 360 games. Motion controls on the Wii were. Downloadable games are not a new way to play. They are a new way to aquire said games.

Also, it isn't a "new way to jump." It's giving you to the option to do more WHEN you jump.
