Super smash bros hands down. I love mortal kombat x and own it myself but super smash bros wii u houses a ton more reply value. I get bored much easier playing mortal kombat x.
Mortal kombat x in some ways is more intense and competitive when both players are trading blows and near death. The combo system or and counter system is elite.
I've always looked at the Street Fighter series (2-4 and some of the cross overs) as well as the late 1990's SNK games (King of Fighters 96-99, Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, The Last Blade) as the top of the genre.
Neither Smash or Mortal Kombat compare.
Well, to be fair Smash is it's own thing, it's own identity......Mortal Kombat has and will always be the poor mans Street Fighter or KOF.
Surprised someone bumped this. I haven't played Mortal Kombat X (or my XBOX one) for months now.
I might use it for Netflix though because I hate how Netflix works in the Wii U and that the Gamepad has to be involved and the Wii U goes into automatic shutdown mode even when a movie is playing.
They can't really be compared. I'd say MKX is more similar to something like KI or SF, than Smash Bros. We might as well compare the Dragon Ball fighting games to Tekken.
PS Battle Royale truly is the only game you can compare Super Smash Bros. to, IMO.

It's not on Wii U, so who cares. I have an Xbox One, but not everyone does. I've just been replaying games and haven't even touched the my Xbox backlog. I don't have PS4.
They're not comparable, but there's pretty much no traditional fighter series that MK is better than. There are flash games made by one person better than MK.

Btw, MKX is better than Smash Bros. But that doesn't mean both games are bad. Both got their ups and downs.
