What if it sold, like, over 500 million consoles or something, and sold 20 million, or something, in its first week!
And all the 3rd party devs let Sony and Microsoft to develop for Nintendo?
Then, when Sony and Microsoft came out with their next thing, no one would leave Nintendo because no one bought their consoles!
Then Nintendo dominated the gaming field in both handheld an console sales...

I would hope that Nintendo doesn't get too cocky as they got from the Wii/DS sales and start to get lazy.

Seeing how there's about 8 rumors of new games for 3DS to be announced, fast releases of Mario Kart and Super Mario 3D Land and 20 free games for early 3DS adapters I kind of want them to have a more stressed situation with the WiiU as well. It seem to be better for consumers.

When has Nintendo not been lazy? Even during the success of the Wii and DS, Nintendo was sitting back and letting the money roll in, and they barely did anything to improve their systems features.

The SD card solution for the Wii didn't help much, since you still needed to have the right amount of free space on your Wii so the data could transfer over. Nintendo also didn't do much to update the Wii's firmware and give us new Channels to play around with.

I had so many ideas for new Wii Channels, but all we got was Everybody Votes Channel, Nintendo Channel, and Check Mii Out Channel. What about a drawing channel? Youtube channel? Instant messenger channel? Facebook channel?

Yeah, that's what I mean. They need to be stressed and have some competition in the market. I don't want them to be competed out of the business. But having that kind of success as they had with the Wii and DS is never good for any company, at least not from a consumer point of view.

It's going to flop hard and make babies cry. Nintendo will go out of business and we'll all skip merrily over to Sony and Microsoft and get on with our lives.

More or less, what they need to do to step their game up is to quit cutting corners and always trying to produce cheap hardware. I've always kinda gone with the basic theory you get what you pay for, which is why even now after the release of GameCube, Wii, even the DS line-up, I don't really have as high expectations for their next gen console as I would with Microsoft or Sony. If they're not gonna attempt to make that effort and assurance of their product that everyone expects/envisions for themselves, rather than standing pretty, all wishful thinking and telling everyone what they wanna hear, then what's the point? What do i have to go on? In short, they need to step outside their comfort zone, think outside the box a little more, and learn how to play with the big boys.

The Wii has been the best console ever for me so far. I got all my VC classics that I lost/sold. Got good entries in the series, some which are considered the best. I got to play stuff online, Wiiware, different control schemes.

I would wake up and see that its Nintendo as usual. Great first party games, but bad 3rd party support, awful online services and gimmicks galore.
