Let the game play balance between Brawl and Melee.

I don't want it to be broken and unresponsive as Melee but I also want it to be a tad faster than Brawl (though, I personally had no huge issues with the pacing of Brawl).

And please... No nerfing characters that needn't be nerfed. Meta Knight's Mach Tornado particularly should make him dizzy if used consecutively. Keep his speed the same, as he's perfectly represented as he was in the Kirby games.

As for 3rd Parties: I say keep Sonic. I don't know about Snake, really. Hell MGS has not even appeared on the Wii console which bugs me because Megaman and 3rd party characters deserve that spot as they've appeared on Nintendo's consoles much more than little old Snake. Peace Walker could have been a great title for Wii- but oh well. It's Kojima.

And yeah, I know, it has nothing to do with who deserves that makes the cut for Smash Bros- but I'm just pointing out the inconvenient truth: Snake did not deserve to be in Smash Bros. Brawl- done.

More stages are a given. DLC (most likely free since this is Nintendo, anyhow), sure.

We need more female characters though. Metroid needs at least one or two more characters and MOTHER should have Poo, Paula, Jeff, Kumatora or even Flint join the fight.... Or even Pokey/Porky, cuz I'd love to beat the ever loving crap outta that punk (beating him in a giant spider machine isn't the same).

As much as I hate Ike.. Keep him for the FE fans. Not my call to say "Get him out cause I hate him." Bringing Lyn as a playable would be sweet, though.

Sam and Andy from Advance Wars would be neat additions. Sin and Punishment's Isa and Saki (unlockable) should be welcomed. RayMK II from Custom Robo should be turned into a playable character- though, not in that size (Olimar should be smaller than RayMKII and even Kirby- who's 8 cm tall).

For the Mario universe: Striker Daisy, Waluigi and Bowser Jr.
Warioware: 9-volt, Ashely. Mona and Kat&Ana (similar to Ice Climbers- as Plusle&Minun were supposed to be like Popo and Nana).

Finally, please don't remove any characters. And bring Mewtwo back D:

Like Nintendo is going to read this....

I think SSB4 should have multiple story modes, like an Emissary style mode, a mode like Melee's Adventure Mode, etc.

Fix'd.

I want SSB4 to not suck. Is that too much for you, Nintendo? D:

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I liked the idea of SSE. I think if there's a story mode again, have it take place across ALL of the worlds of Nintendo's mascots instead of solely in the Smash Bros. world

Though, it did take place in Smash Bros' world as they are trophies, not the real characters.

I think SSB4 should be a first-person shooter.

Well I dont really hope that a new one comes out but what does it need a total reboot/redesign to be closer to a more traditional fighting game like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.

There are a million games like Street Fighter, and none like Smash. I love Street Fighter, but if not for games like Smash, the genre would be as stale as the FPS.

I don't like Street Fighter all that much, unfortunately. I do enjoy the Vs. games, but I prefer Smash Bros. over any other fighting game. I like the chaos and how you don't need to perform a combination to pull off one move. And some players are brutal to the point you can't escape endless combos. It's hopeless. But with Smash Bros, you have a better chance to get out of a sticky situation.

And those other fighters kinda give me a... claustrophobic feeling, for some reason..

I want it to be named Super Smash Brothers Royale XD

ANYWAYS, I like having more characters so I can a variety of characters to play with. For those who say that Melee was more balanced than Brawl, I think Brawl is more balanced. Sure Metaknight is by far the best character, but everyone else in the game still plays pretty well. The only character I feel horribly handicapped playing with is Ganondorf. In Melee though I only played with specific characters because the weaknesses of the lower/bottom tiered characters were far more apparent and painful to deal with.

Once again, like someone stated, different physics and a different feel to the game since so far all 3 have played differently.

I heard that the creator of Metal Gear practically begged Sakurai to put Snake in Smash Bros which is why him of all characters made it in.

Actually it's nice having 3rd party characters in it...providing the developers can find a way for them to fit in well. I mean how many more Nintendo characters can we put in that don't use a sword, isn't a pokemon, or relatvely known. I guess some of the other franchises could have better representation but in the end you're still looking at the same pool of characters. Not to mention experience with "clone" characters.

Yup.

Solid Snake does not deserve to be in Brawl. Not the other way around
To each their own, though.

I wonder why Inafune thought he was special enough to get a call from Nintendo about Megaman. If Nintendo did that- then they might as well do it to all other third party companies they are close with.

I thought adding Snake and Sonic were awesome ideas.

If you've seen all the secret Otacon messages in Brawl, you know he fits in perfectly. Just the right mix of humor and seriousness for Smash.

Sakurai said he wanted more third parties but could not arrange it, which I assume means other companies like Capcom weren't interested or wanted too much money. If Cafe is truly more third-party oriented, you can bet they'll try harder this time. Heck, who knows, maybe they'll consider it a reboot as someone already suggested and make it more of a Nintendo Vs. The Gaming Industry title, with about half first-party and half third-party characters. As much as I like Nintendo's roster, I love a lot of non-Nintendo characters, too, and they don't have that many characters I'd like to see added to Brawl in the first place. They could include all the clones as alternate costumes instead, to cut down on their first party list, and get rid of a few others to make room for the visiting team.

I can see it so clearly already, Zangief doing his lariat as his recovery on Smashville like DK's Up+B, and of course getting spiked by Ganon.

@Turtlelink

I mean, yeah, they were awesome additions, no doubt. I have nothing against Solid Snake- I just don't like the fact that there was no MGS title on Wii. I had hoped his appearance in Smash would at least green light an MGS title on Wii- but nope. He's only appeared on Nintendo's console about what? 2 or 3 times? Compared to Bomberman and Megaman who's appeared many more times (but that alone doesn't determine anything really).

@weird_adam
Having 5 3rd party characters would be okay (in part, keeping Snake and Sonic). Smash Bros. is really a Nintendo mascots free for all and I know there were people who were annoyed about 3rd party characters- in their words- "invading the game". I just hope that having 5 3rd party characters doesn't cut chances of other Nintendo characters for making it in. People accused Sonic for taking Mewtwo's spot as there was data of him in the game and was apparently near completion compared to the other character's hidden data in the game (he even had his own victory theme and voice box).

Series can change.

There aren't really a ton of Nintendo characters that would make good additions at this point. Most characters would either be another clone (Star Fox has the territory covered), a Pokemon (which we have a million of already, especially if Mewtwo returns), or a stretch (i.e. someone who isn't really a main character in the game or has no appropriate move set).

There's plenty of room with trophies to add more characters. Or if they don't add more third parties, maybe they could replace trophies with support characters, where you'd pick a team a la Whatever Vs. Capcom, with one character under your control and a minor character who can be summoned to do a special move under certain conditions without requiring the full development of a normal character. That'd be pretty awesome and could potentially balance out weaker characters who need a better recovery or lack a projectile or what have you.

Whatever happens, the series needs a big change to justify a sequel. I'd love it if they just rereleased Brawl with better balancing and a couple new characters, but that won't set store shelves on fire. It's already been reported that Nintendo is trying harder to reach out to third parties, so I'd bet on at least a few visitors to the roster no matter what.
