What about a Monster Hunter game developed by From Software that plays like an Animal Crossing game?

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I didn't see that in the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKceMOnTj20

WAIT THAT'S FROM SOFTWARE?!

WHAT?

Like...how...how did I not hear about that? There's no way I wouldn't have heard about that. I knew this was a thing and no one mentioned From Software from what I read? How did that even happen?

It would be like if Platinum Games was working on the new Star Fox and no one focused on that, it would be incredibly stupid!

Yoshi

^Just saying, I cringe every time I see that guy, mainly because of what he mentions during a particular case in the third Ace Attorney game that I won't mention.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

lol @ everyone saying it's too late now... why are y'all scared? just because they let us know the NX is coming doesn't mean it's time to pack your Wii U up now. y'all did that with the Gamecube, Wii, now you beg every day for remakes of those games! Just hold on to your console and spend more time loving it and less time worrying about stuff that doesn't exist.

I would also love to see more RPG's on the Wii U, particularly turn based RPGs. Genei Ibun Roku #FE is currently my most looked forward to game for the Wii U, and Child of Light currently stands as my favourite game on this console generation, so I'm certainly keen on my turn based RPGs as of late.

Nintendo do have quite a few RPG series themselves; Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, Mother, Golden Sun, and the Magical series. Unfortunately, the Mother series has officially ended and we haven't had a core Paper Mario game in a long while. Out of those, I think it would be a good idea to have the Magical series pop up on Wii U, out of all those Nintendo IPs, it's the least well known, and I feel having it as Nintendo's console RPG series would help it stand out much more.

In regards to already made 3rd party RPGs, there are a lot I'd love to see on Wii U. I've been interested in the Atelier series for quite a while, and given Nintendo's current relationship with Koei Tecmo, I'd love to see some of those recent remakes pop up on Wii U. Hyperdimension Neptuina was a turn based RPG game I tried to get into, but felt the gameplay too poor and bland, but I've heard and seen that the PS Vita remakes are much better, and I'd love to be able to play them on the Wii U instead (otherwise, it looks like I'll have to pick up a Wii U in future). Capcom seem to be in a position currently wherein they seem to only be doing HD remakes and ports; I certainly wouldn't complain about Breath of Fire IV on Wii U. It's even less likely than anything else on the list, but finally being able to play Grand Knights Historia, and on the Wii U, that would be a dream come true.

Because it takes a few years to make an HD video game with original assets. If the Wii U is getting more RPGs, they would have started development in 2013/2014. If Nintendo is only now "looking aggressively" at RPGs, they're not coming to Wii U, at least not exclusively.

This is good news for Wii U's longevity if he actually says that they're looking on bringing more games, but I got to concede that having Camelot develop Mario Tennis for Wii U instead of Golden Sun just doesn't compute.

So a bad Monster Hunter-alike with poor mechanics and nonexistent attack variety hidden behind a lazy, frustrating difficulty? They've already done that and, bonus, those games have more trash mobs to wade through to boot!

So, yeah, do not want. Every Monster Hunter release is like another beat of the drum, calling all third person melee developers to 'git gud.'

Wait, he wants more RPGs... u wot m8? THEN MAKE A PAPER MARIO GAME! What the what is even going on over there!? The answer is staring them in the face; Intelligent Systems with a giant Miyatrolololo sticker on it, sapping their strength and creativity. You just gotta peel it off, jus' peel it off...

It's almost liked they're making other games or something.

also this idiotic idea that Miyamoto ruined Sticker Star needs to stop. That doesn't even make any sense, he probably spent a couple of hours of his time in total looking over the game. His focus was on Luigi's Mansion AND ESPECIALLY Pikmin 3. It got screwed over because fans apparently did not care about the story in Super Paper Mario and they made a gameplay mechanic that invalidated a significant portion of normal Paper Mario gameplay and just ran with the innovation!

It's annoying because it's one of the most transparently obvious examples of what went wrong with a game out there, and deciding to take an offhand suggestion as the entirety of what went wrong with a video game is insulting to anyone with half a brain. And trying to put one of the most important and respected people in the entire medium under a bus because Intelligent Systems made some poor design choices is about as insulting as it gets. Now I could maybe grant you that the "no new character focus" was something that became a priority because the devs themselves took Miyamoto's advice (and I certainly don't agree with that advice), but anything beyond that is purely idiotic.

(and no I am not saying Intelligent Systems are dumb for how they made Sticker Star, but they clearly put themselves in a bad situation with their attempts to add something new. Something that I'm sure will never happen at Nintendo again!!!!!)

ahem All that said, I would love a new Paper Mario in the classic style. Innovation is cool but it's been far too long to wait for a true sequel to TTYD.

I wasn't even talking about Sticker Star, not directly. But anyway, thanks for the insult and ridiculous points. The problem with not having a Paper Mario game is that they haven't written and produced a good Paper Mario story since 2007. The solution for that problem is writing and producing a good Paper Mario story, no more and no less.

Thank you all for enduring my radical point about how writing, creativity, and creative freedom make good RPGs. Sorry if I blew yo minds.

Also, if you follow, that if Nintendo want RPGs, they should make RPGs. Radical ideas right here, also, this:

I know it must have been very exciting for you to seize an opportunity to trash talk From Software, but you can probably see by the follow up quotes that I was leading into a joke about that Felyne Crossing game.

Or they could just go and talk to one of the many studios in Japan with decades of experience in making high quality RPGs and say "Hey, we would like one of your games on our home console, please. We are willing to work with you to make this happen." I hear that works pretty well for Sony.

Also, IntSys has been a little busy lately, what with dropping the handheld RPG of the generation this week. You can play it early next year. Please be excite.
