Here is the thread for the 3rd installment of everyone's favorite 2 inch tall astronaut! Since we know practically nothing about the game yet till E3, for the moment I'm just speculating. I bet we'll see (either all or some of the following) Black, Orange, Green, Light Blue, and perhaps other colored Pikmin. (For those of you who have completed the first game, remember that you see those colored Onions at the very end, flying up into the atmosphere). I can only wonder what Olimar would be doing returning to the Pikmin planet (aka Earth). What are some of your ideas of what we'll see in this sequel?

Pikmin fact of the week: The Pearly Clamclamps in Pikmin 1 can still attack and eat Pikmin even after being defeated. They are the only creatures in the game able to do so.

I hope we see new pikmin, it's gonna look amazing with HD and new graphics especially since the environments in Pikmin were always realistic looking compared to the toon-ish design of olimar and the pikmin. I hope Olimar doesnt just return cuz he needs money. IDk if I was the only one who found Pikmin 2 hard, but I hope 3 is just as challenging. I wonder if Louie will be back?

I hope they go all out with a claymation-like look for the game. It would probably never happen, even considering the art styles of other recent Nintendo games, but it would be cool. They've been working on this game for forever so I hope it lives up to the hype.

I can see controlling where the Pikmin go with the touch screen as a gameplay option. I'm hoping Nintendo does it right with the HD capabilities at their disposal, I want very detailed environments that give a good atmosphere.

While I love everything about Pikmin 2 and think it's almost strictly better than Pikmin 1, I would have liked to spend less time underground. I have no problem or complaints with the underground levels, but the grass, trees, and landscape above ground is more appealing aesthetically. The daily time limit also added a sense of urgency (which I liked) that wasn't present in the underground stages.

I hope they do have some underground caverns, but more levels (regions) on the surface of the planet would make me very happy.

I'll think of something...

Yeah. Personally I'd like to see this series get very realistic with the environment. Make you really feel like you are just a bug walking around on the Earth almost.

I really enjoyed the first game, but wasn't enticed by the second. It sounded like it lost too much of the narrative structure of the first. In principle I can say I'd like to support this game, but it really depends on whether it successfully carries the spirit of the original game. Olimar's diary was a big part of what I enjoyed: that feeling that I'm helping this stranded astronaut rejoin his family.

Same here, though for the brief time I played multiplayer, particularly the battle mode, I got a huge kick out of that. I would like to see P3 expand both on the sequel's multiplayer and the original's sense of story.

I can't believe I only just now thought of this, but the controller would make co-op better since you could use it as a split-screen and let the other player play along ala Pikmin NPC controls.

I feel the same way! I've been waiting for what seems like an eternity. Every e3 I would come in thinking "They just GOTTA show Pikmin 3 this time!" only to be smacked down and disappointed. This has happened like 3 times now!!! Finally I can come into this e3 and say with confidence that I WILL witness Pikmin 3 once and for all. I'm so excited!

I'm a new fan of Pikmin, since I'll be borrowing Pikmin 1 from my friend this summer and buying Pikmin 2 on Wii. Regardless, I'm really excited to see what they've done with Pikmin 3, with the Wii U graphics and controller this could be so cool!

Pikmin has been one of those series I wanted to get into ever since I first had my Gamecube, so now I finally am! :D

Soo excited for everything E3 this year!

Pikmin 2 is just around the corner for the Wii! I'm definitly going to break my game limmit rule and snatch it up since i'm dieing to see what all of the '2's so much better than 1' fuss is all about. I seriously hope they got rid of that hazy motion blur effect that was present in the original. Pikmin may be a great game(especially on the Wii due to the enhanced Pointer controls) but graphically speaking, it hasn't aged that well.....

You'd think a game like Pikmin which boasts simplistic visuals could run in 60 frames per second...Had it been developed for the Wii instead, i have a big feeling it would of been. Er..In other news, Pikmin 3 in 10 more days! Durp! :p

I think, based on Let's Play videos I've seen, 2 is still pretty blurry. But this will (hopefully) be fixed in the Wii version. I myself am also planning on getting as a prelude to 3!

Not sure what you mean by blurry...I can't compare the 2 since I only have, um, 2. But it doesn't look blurry to me.
