Topic: Is This The Year?

Will Metroid be announced this year? I don't care if it doesn't come out for a while, I just need to know the series is alive.

After last E3 with that interview about the future of Metroid we have received many subtle hints on Metroid's return. Do you think it's time for a reveal or or has all that hinting actually been a subtle "no"?

I think we'll finally get a peek, a teaser sort of at E3 this year. Not trailer or anything detailed.

In all seriousness though, another metroid would be nice. 1 per generation excluding the n64 gen.

They have to announce Metroid Prime 4 and Paper Mario Wii U this year, they just have to... shudder

I'm sticking to my prediction of some sort of announcement at the very least with a 2016 release date. The series will turn 30 in 2016, so I think it would be suitable.

Another Metroid would be great as long as it is like Prime Hunters.

Another Prime Hunters is pretty much the only kind of Metroid game I would absolutely refuse to buy.

Seems like a good business idea to save it for 2016, considering the amount of big titles this year. I'd like it this year, but I doubt it.

Well, Metroid Prime Trilogy is one of the Wii downloads becoming available on the Wii U eShop, so maybe that points toward a revival of the franchise? Galaxy 2 is a no-brainer, and Punch Out! I believe is the other one, and we just saw Mac in Smash Brothers. So maybe.....

We're overdue for another Prime game on Wii U, so hopefully.

They really should've had one back in 2013 instead of Tropical Freeze, but better late than never.

I wish it would be so all the "METROID IS DEAD" and "LET'S TRASH THIS UPCOMING WIIU GAME BC IT'S NOT METROID" foolishness would end.

But realistically, I would at MOST expect an teaser/announcement and the actual game to come in 2016.

Oh yes, it is! So many amazing games will be released this year: Splatoon, Xenoblade X, The Legend of Zelda: Wii U and so on!

The question is will Metroid be announced.

They still have Metroid, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, more Mario Sports Titles and a few other character games that can be released still. I'm hoping for a 2D Metroid game (not FPS), and I think Paper Mario and Animal Crossing can really benefit using the controller pad (imagine the designing you could do in Animal Crossing).
