I would love to see an HD Metroid Prime with completely redone graphics (HD textures, high polygonal models and environments, depth of field effects, motion blur, etc.).
I like this idea. Add sprinting and I'm sold.

No, we need Nintendo to concentrate on the new titles like Pikmin 3!

Since 3DS have the 3D Classics downloadable series and 3D remakes in retail form, will there be HD Classics for the Wii U shop channel or possibly in retail form?
i hope so, but at the same i still hope we get the virtual console as well. even if the graphics for those games aren't in HD, they will look more like that on the wii U.
Starfox 64 on wii u , and no i don't want the 3DS version they messed up lots of soundtracks, including Area 6. Well not mess up but the originals were all better. @SuperOtaku so your avatar is a momodo! I miss zach and his love for yellow fish

I still use SD anyway. In fact I just upgraded to a flat screen this year (still a tube tv of course; I've found them to be more reliable).
NES games should definitely NOT be made in HD! There aren't enough pixels for it! Mario would look like a pile of blocks! That said, I think Nintendo would be stupid not to offer some old SNES games remastered in HD. I probably wouldn't buy them, but tons of other people would, even if they charged a premium. What I WOULD buy would be re-made N64 games. I'd love to play Mario 64 or the original Smash Bros with Gamecube level graphics, though I would only have an interest if they were sold for $20 or under. As for Gamecube games, many of them already play at 480p, so it probably wouldn't be too hard to bring them up to 720p. The system should also upconvert Wii games if possible.
Though they shouldn't be remade in HD, NES games should be made compatible with HD tv's. A couple years ago I got my brother Super Mario Bros from the VC and it wouldn't work on his tv because he used a component cord. Nintendo didn't help at all on the phone, but they did tell me it's a common problem. Yet there's no warning label...

If the games are redone in HD, the graphics would look a lot smoother and less pixelated. Look at the Sonic games on XBLA.
No. No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm already sick of hearing about remakes on the 3DS. If I want to play these games, I can just dust off one of my old Nintendo consoles. Progress, please.
Here's another SD TV owner who wouldn't wanna see HD versions of old games on Wii U. In fact, I've always considered HD to be wayyyyy overrated: often I can't even see the difference between SD and HD. Plus HD doesn't really enhance the experience for me, as I don't need to have the most detailed picture quality, anyway.

That would be great, Nintendo will most likely do this. Because the Wii U is Nintendo's first HD console, they'll make sort of a big deal about that. Imagine playing Wind Waker, Twilight princess, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Goldeneye 64 and other games in 1080p, 3D games look better in high resolutions. I think Nintendo will offer free HD upgrades for some Virtual Console games, and I believe some of those games will be gamecube games. And Nintendo will probably emphasize 3rd and 4th generation(NES, SNES, Genesis, etc) game play on the Wii U controller's small screen.

Totally this, I'm blind so HD does nothing for me.
As long as they're just upscaled rereleases (i.e. the exact same game but displayed at a higher resolution), then I'm completely fine with it. I don't understand why Nintendo even bother with remakes in this day in age when a good chunk of their back catalogue is already available to download. Just play the damn games via VC, and let them devote their resources to creating NEW games. -.-
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
