Honestly I don't understand why it bothers you so much, no one is forcing you to buy it so why are you forcing others not to buy it? Play what you like and let others play what they like. It's that simple.

All this thread did was expose whiny crybabies and alert curious gamers that there is a new "bad" game out to try.
You're just trollin. The Letter was a different case. It was a strange new, albeit terrible game that reminded people of unintentional bad movies like "The Room." This isn't new. It's flappy bird... Who hasn't played that already?
I haven't played Flappy Bird before and The Letter was also a rip off of the Slender Man PC game. Also, I'd be willing to bet that less than 3% of the users of this website know what "The Room"* is, so that didn't factor at all into people buying The Letter.
This thread backfired, and you only helped to publicize the game and boost it's sales.
*Guess what? Us mentioning the movie "The Room" will now lead to someone who previously didn't know it existed to Google it to find out more, and potentially go to Youtube to watch clips or maybe even torrent the whole movie.
How many more times you gonna edit this comment to make your weak point?
I edited it once to add a reference to the 2003 Tommy Wiseau film, The Room. Don't worry, I won't be editing it anymore because you have already been humiliated enough.
OH $#!+, Apple puts your photos on the cloud!? Crap, brb, gotta go delete some evidence stuff...
Only if you set your iDevices to do so. You can turn the option off.
It's part of their "unified" apple ecosystem, if you take a photo with your iPhone it will appear on your ipad and any other device linked to your iCloud account.
So naturally, if anyone gets access to your account....
@unrandomsam Nope. Nano Assault Neo is a fun SHUMPS. The only downside is that the game is extremely short. I bought it on sale for 7 bucks, but even at that price the content is still extremely lacking. However, calling it rubbish is unjust. Never played scram kitty so no comment.
actually hes states the these are the only good ones. i think the eshop has many more but he is picky as all get out.
Well I'm very very happy this kind of stuff will never make it to Europe.
As the author of the game has said, by buying a game you cast a vote. Apparently, there is a number of people who's going to get this game just because it's going to be really bad, just because has caused a minor controversy on these boards or just because they fall for reverse psychology (and proud!). In the end, you get what you deserve. If you keep feeding a system that gives you stuff deliberately built to be bad and take your money "for a laugh", that's what you deserve.
To the author of the game, I'd like to say that I have no idea how hard is to develop games. I can only guess it's hell on earth - I work in music so I kinda know the amount of work it takes to go from a blank page to a finished product. But I find your attitude incredibly unprofessional. Your games were outsold by junk titles, and instead of fighting this trend (like anyone who takes pride in his work would do), you are now one of those releasing junk. If you like to develope games in your spare time, there are many ways you can distribute them freely on PC - selling them on a console is nothing more than taking advantage of gamers naiveness and attraction for the controversial. You're very lucky the industry is young and Nintendo and the audience allow you to do it - in no other industry I could imagine a piece of trash done in the spare time making a profit.
And I am surprised NintendoLife considers this worthy of being on the news page - not much to talk about today I guess.

I'm going to change the title a bit so that we can have a more neutral discussion allowing both sides to argue. Carry on
Sure, why don't you edit my opening post while you are at it.
I'm not really interested in censoring opinions, but I changed the title so that it's more general and we don't have multiple threads. Feel free to hate the game though

There are two major categories of game makers:
Make Quality Games over worrying about sales and then theres make as many games as possible and hope for profit. Today, most developers go to the second option. The difference with Spikey Walls is that Mike has gained a loyal group on Miiverse that wish to support him because he listens ti them. Blok Drop U got an update with things people asked for, and i know he'll listen to the opinion of the buyers of this game.
Do you like videogames? If so, you must know
It's dangerous to go Alone.
Yep. Start a thread telling people not to buy something and guarantee that twice as many people become aware of the game. Exact same thing happened with Senran Kagura Burst.
I thought Blok Drop was ok. For $1.99 Edge is a much better game with more content. That was my main issue with Blok drop.
I think these gamed play a role on the system. Not everybody can afford even reduced price games at $15-$30, much less $60. Plus sometimes you have change on an account. The main deal is that Nintendo needs to organize its eShop so as not to clutter things.
But, as a result the dev voluntarily revealed himself as a pretty bitter, greedy guy who has decided to create a game out of punitive motivations, which is very illuminating and very sad. Hopefully people read his response and opt out of buying SPIKEY WALLS due to just how condescending he is to his fans and potential fans.
Well it's maybe a bit unfair to read that much into it. I doubt he's greedier than anyone else. He's certainly being opportunistic and cynical but that's not the end of the world. It's a valuable lesson that you should never expect people just to do the best thing possible, you need to structure systems in order to encourage it.
I think a lot of people put too much weight on moralising things. It so rarely achieves anything good. It just ends up with people being divided and aggressive, as we see evidence of every time someone brings a moral or political view into the games industry. If more people just thought like calculating economists and were honest and up front about it, I think the world would work a little better. But hey, I might be wrong. It's just a hunch I have based on observing how moral arguments never go anywhere.
You can see from the sales of Fez that people don't really give a damn about moral principles when it conflicts with basic animalistic hedonism. Phil Fish is almost universally regarded as a collosal penis yet we have no problem with making him a multi-millionaire.
