Topic: Did they announce ability to transfer VC games to Wii U?

Anyone know?

They didnt announce it but if 3DS could I ddont see why Wii U cant. I just hope it keeps the save files and you dont have to restart the game, like I did with all my DSiWare Titles.

Something is giving me a doubting feeling about this. I don't know why, but it is. Anyhow, if there is the ability to do so, I believe it'll be announced later in the stage of further development.

I'll be more than happy to keep my Wii to play Nes, Snes and N64 games.

I'll have my Wii in the study and my Wii U in the living room

hopefully,because all mai Wii channels are full, and i'd really like to transfer. ALso, I heard GameCube will be in VC. I hope ther's data transfer for people who have a huge collection of GC games.

DSiWare I didn't care much about when moving to the 3DS...though I have a CRAPLOAD of Wii VC games I wanna keep. (and 2 WiiWare games, but they're not that important, lol) They better make them all transferable...then again I might end up keeping the Wii for a while after nabbing the Wii U anyways due to my GCN games.

thats just a rumor. nobody knows that for certain.

well if you already beat them then i see no reason why u cant replay them again, plus as i understand it for dsiware games in the case of wiiware and maybe vc these are linked to your system some games are internal as in a highscore or a save will have a unique code related so it wont be possible to transfer them as a transfer i believe will take the license fresh as in being played as if u just bought it so you have to play it again anyways for a different hardware (backwards compatiblity isnt so simple as i or anyone wishes it to be)

like Bass_X0 said its just a rumor but i dont think that will be possible for data transfer, just simply keep your wii or gamecube if u have for when you want to play a gamecube game if not having the space is somehow an issue or plugs just get a convert box.

though i somewhat see gamecube games being 40% out of 100 being possible on a vc like ps1 and ps2 remaster for the ps3

they cant help it if some titles end up not being transferable but yeah i think you should just keep the wii and have it as a *go to system for cube games and wii games i might even say plus as well your vc games

What's a convert box? I'll be either keeping my Wii and not getting a Wii U or getting rid of the Wii and getting a Wii U so interested in other options (I'd love to have both!!). GameCube VC wouldn't interst me, though, because most of my favourite games are unlikely to ever get a download release due to being third party/licenced so a way to transfer from disc would be equally appealing.

Save data is saved to the Wii, not tied to a license, and can be transferred to an SD Card (unless that game uses Wi-Fi), so if the Wii U doesn't transfer save data already, you can always do it yourself.

As for the question, it hasn't been announced, but considering you can transfer DSiWare to a 3DS, you should be able to do the same for WiiWare and VC to Wii U.

I hope you can. I would hate to re-buy all my VC games.

Believe me,the most reasonable possibillity will be that when u start up your Wii U,u can sign up with your Club Nintendo account,and all the games you ever bought on all the different Wii's in the past,are free to download.

This better be true. And you should also be able to transfer all your VC and WiiWare games over.

vc i could see it all being transferable but for wiiware there could be issues like there was when some dsiware couldnt be transfered
