My favorite has got to be the SNES, probably mainly for nostalgic reasons. It was my 1st proper home console (had an Attari ST before that ) so will always have a special place in my heart. Alot of my friends had the NES and I always wanted one to be able to play Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3 but never managed to get one. Once Super Mario Allstars was released my life felt complete

My least favourite console is the Gamecube (might be an unpopular choice). Mainly because Mario Sunshine was such a let down after Mario 64

My favorite is the Gamecube, mostly because IMHO it had some of the most original Nintendo games since the NES, except the games themselves aren't nearly as rough as the old NES games. Everything felt so fresh and they still do. My least Favorite is the N64, followed closely by the Wii, for having the least interesting Nintendo games and crappy 3rd Party support with only a few noteable titles in my opinion. For Nintendo especially it felt too much like they were busy trying to one up the last generation rather than coming up with something more fresh, Wii Sports and Super Mario 64 excluded.

Favorite: Whatever's new cuz they can play everything else that's older

Least favorite: Whatever the oldest one is because that can hardly play anything and can't play past games

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Favorite: SNES - the best RPG console Nintendo ever made.

Least favorite: Gamecube. That's why I never got one, even if I kinda wish I had.

Actually, the Gamecube had some good RPGs. Baten Kaitos & Baiten Kaitos Origins, Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles, Lost Kingdom I & II, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Phantasy Star Online I & II, Tales of Symphonia. Maybe not great but they're still very much worth looking into if you ever get one.

Favorite: Wii - Motion controls, online connectivity, Virtual Console, nearly perfect (except for the GBA Player) GameCube backwards compatability. This choice may change in a couple of months.
Runner Up: SNES - near pinnacle of retro power before the industry moved to polygons and other more modern features, legendary library

Least Favorite: DS/DSi - Underwhelming design (in my opinion) with dual screens and touchscreen gameplay, library full of overly weird and/or gimmicky games, DSi dropped GBA backwards compatability
Runner Up: N64 - As part of the first polygon generation, the graphics in general have aged really badly; terrible controller; bad 3rd party support

If he has a Wii, there's no need to buy a GameCube to play them.

If someone was to ask me my favourite console, my heart would say the N64, although in my head I think I have to say the wii is my favourite. I think the reason is because although I have a swag of fantastic games on the wii, I very rarely have the opportunity to play multiplayer. In contrast, almost all my N64 experiences are multiplayer with my brother and next door neighbour.

I don't have a least favourite console because I think every console offers something. The console I would least like to own would be the gamecube, purely because the wii can play the gamecube games. But at the end of the day, every console has something to offer!

Favorite: SNES- So many excellent games on this console. A lot of them have aged remarkably well too.

Least favorite N64- The games haven't aged as well as on the other consoles (mainly referring to the graphics and the cameras in games like SM64). The controller design hasn't aged well either.

Favorite is SNES of course

Least is... er... Game Boy I guess. Didn't have a large enough library of games to my liking, and the ones I did like had sequels that were much better on the GBC/GBA

Favorite: Wii - Not only does it have some great games in its own library, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, A boy and his blob, and Kirby's Epic Yarn, but it lets you play all your favorite Gamecube games and lets you download classics from the NES, SNES, Genesis, and so many other great systems.

Least favorite: Original Game Boy - Don't get me wrong, the Game Boy series is a wonderful group of handheld game consoles, and it was a great system for its time, but the giant design, tiny screen, and colorless graphics just don't hold up well today. It was a classic system for its time, but has been improved so much over time.

Oh, I know, and I do want to get my hands on them at some point, but I really can't compare that to SNES with games like Lufia II, TLoZ A Link to the Past, Terranigma, Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Time/Gaia, Secret of Mana and the Final Fantasies. And then I haven't even tried to list all the great platformers like Yoshi's Island, for example. They didn't have fancy graphics or 3D or recorded soundtracks by some huge fancy orchestra, but they're still the same amazing games today that they were 15 years ago. Plus, the nostalgia plays a big part in it as well, but this is my personal preference. For me nothing can beat the SNES

My favorite system is the SNES. With it great library of games and RPGs this is the crown jewel of Nintendo systems. I can honestly say that during the 16 bit era Nintendo ruled unquestionable. After the 16 bit era it seems that Nintendo just cant capture the magic like they did with the SNES. Dont get me wrong the N64, Gamecube and the Wii are great systems but they just couldnt annihilate they competition that SNES did especially the N64 and GC.

My least favorite system I would have to say is the Wii and mainly cause I am disappointed by it. For months prior to the release the VC was hyped up big time. Everywhere was saying oh you will get to play old NES SNES etc. games on it and that was the main reason I bought it. Dont get me wrong there are some great VC games but there are also many more that I would like to see and the past year or so the lack of VC content as been disappointing. They have been some great games on the Wii games like GoldenEye and the Star Wars Force Unleashed games but over all most games when given the choice I will buy on Xbox before the Wii.

The Wii is the best thing Nintendo has ever put out. Like many others have said it plays games from so many different classic systems as well as being backward compatible with Gamecube. There was a time when I would have said Snes was my favorite but the Wii can do so much more. It doesn't need the most amazing graphics. It has a smorgasbord of retro favorites available on VC as well as many games I never got the chance to play.

As far as least favorite the Virtual boy is the only Nintendo system I didn't love. I can't possibly put any other system in that category. All the others were great in their own way to me.

Favorite - SNES. My favorite graphical style, a bevy of excellent games (especially in my favorite genre), heightened nostalgia factor. It has everything going for it in my universe.

Unfavorite - Wii. Take out the VC and I barely touch it. Even first-party games feel super-weaker then last console generation, and the motion controls, well ... they do nothing for me.

My favourite consoles (that's right, there's a bunch which all take pole position) are the Wii, Nintendo 3DS and Game Boy Advance (SP). The Wii has an innovative control scheme, high-quality first-party titles, backwards-compatibility with the Nintendo GameCube library of software and Virtual Console support for every other Nintendo-released home console prior; the Nintendo 3DS has a slew of neat features, backwards-compatibility with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi libraries of software and Virtual Console support for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color; and the Game Boy Advance holds its title as the very first 32-bit handheld console ever released, which makes it twice as powerful as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, not to mention a huge back-catalogue of games due to backwards-compatibility with the Game Boy and Game Boy Color libraries of software and customisable colour palettes for original Game Boy titles.

My least favourite is the Virtual Boy because I don't want to get Red Light Sickness. 'nuff said.

Hard to say....prob SNES overall for a favorite, but looking back on it I really, really enjoyed Gamecube. Granted--I didn't own a PS2 until much later (and its RPG selection was amazing) but I'd say 50% of my Gamecube collection has seen play within the last year, compared to (maybe) 25% of my Wii collection. Game-count wise they're pretty close to each other. F-Zero GX alone got more playtime than half my Wii library.

i dunno if i can truly call the wii the worst, but it's by far my most expensive mistake. Given all the money I put into the system, wiiware/VC, and games, you'd think i'd get use out of it...ever. I don't. I can force myself to play a game every once and a while but I stall out inside of 2 hours every time. Lately the only reason it gets turned on is to play Gamecube games.
