It was confirmed in Hyrule Historia that he wasn't dead.
Least urgent confirmation ever.
Game Theory annoys me, but it's mainly because people tend to interpret his videos as "conclusions."
They're not. They're thought exercises.
Poorly-considered, puerile, and often self-contradictory thought exercises, but still. There's nothing he can be "right" or "wrong" about, so the moment the discussion moves in either of those directions, the video might as well not exist. You could just post a sentence saying "LINK IS TOTES DEAD" and everyone would react with the same amount of mindless bickering.
For game theories, that had some good points but... In the end, hardly enough to hold water. Really, at the end where it talks about us each drawing different meanings out of art based on our own experiences and what resonates with us... That's what they did here. The "5 stages of grief" theory has always held water in my opinion but that doesn't necessarily mean it was intentional, there are always patterns to be found in both nature and in art. As someone who's gone through grief (perhaps still going through it, depending on how you define it), I would say it definitely mirrors the stages, but even if it was intentional, there's really not anything substantial they said that couldn't just as easily apply to Link grieving Navi (for whatever reason anyone would). Like I said, they were good points but... Well, too disconnected. I could use the same points to argue Navi died and Link descended into madness, haunted by "Hey listens!" in his sleep until he snapped, and this is all a hallucination. Not that I'm arguing that...
Ah well. I don't buy the "Link's dead" theory. If Nintendo really intended such a deep twist, I think we'd have heard about it now, at least in Hyrule Hystoria. It certainly would've been a creative choice, there's little reason to think Nintendo wouldn't ever want to take credit for it, Majora's depth comes from the fact that it can be interpreted so many ways.
Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV
Here's my 3DS FC, always looking for Pokemon X Friend Safaris: 2191-7643-5167

His video makes me want to consume colloid silver so that I can be a smurf too

As much as I like watching the Game Theorists, as others have pointed out, Hyrule Historia has already nixed this particular approach. But hey, it's just a theory. A gaaaame theory.

Theories only exist if the truth is up for debate. It's not. This is more like a wrong guess.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

Poorly-considered, puerile, and often self-contradictory thought exercises that conveniently ignore obvious fact that Stevie Wonder could point out.
Observe:
"Morph Ball is lame, Samus in just curling up!"; The Metroid games have made it very clear what the Morph Ball is.
"Pyro is female 'cus anatomy"; Has he seen TF2's artstyle? ANATOMY DOESN'T EXIST IN THAT GAME (almost)
"Mario is Communist" Where do I even begin?
"Barrel rolls are stupid or something" It's been know that Fox does Aerilon Roll for a long time now.
You could make a whole thread about how wrong that guy has been.
I mean at least when some shows like DEATHBATTLE get something obvious wrong, it's still entertaining. This guy however...
a theory is a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
they wernt right nor were they wrong, its just a explaination of how they think somthing happened, and when you think about it it all kinda makes sence, but hey its just a theory a game theory.
I like MatPat, but he should really stick to less click bait stuff. Still better than Crossover though...
DESPITE SMASH BROS BEING NOT CANNON, POKEMON TOTALLY EXIST IN HYRULE. And he calls himself a game theorist.
Gaijin and Game Exchange are cool though, if only for the culture.
