The big grey box with the puke color screen and pencil thin graphics has a special place im heart, the first game boy and game boy pocket ruled the world at one point, and along with it Tetris, Mario Land, and Pokemon. So what is the top five classic game boy games?
(did anybody ever play the Game Boy Lite that was only sold in Japan? It was awsome!)
i don't remember my top 5 but I do remember spending hours upon hours playing BattleToads.
hahahahaha me too. anyway, my favorite GB games (in no particular order):
Pokemon (Red, Blue, Yellow)
Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages
Tetris (i played soooooooo much Tetris on my old GB, lol)
Super Mario Land 1, 2, and 3 (Wario Land)
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
Final Fantasy Adventure, Zelda (although I played DX, but I can certainly appreciate the GB-only one) Link's Awakening, and Tetris Attack. Tetris Attack was the king of GB puzzle games.

I have a Game Boy Lite model, but it's boxed up somewhere. And here are what I consider the top 10 B&W Gameboy titles.
1. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins 2. Zelda: Link's Awakening 3. Wario Land 4. Tetris 5. Metroid II: Return of Samus 6. Kid Dracula 7. Adventure Island 2: Aliens in Paradise 8. Kid Icarus: Of Myths & Legends 9. Castlevania Legends 10. Parodius

I'm only listing 3, for laziness and indecisiveness:
1. Link's Awakening 2. Wario Land 3. Kirby's Dreamland
Yeah, that's right, Kirby's Dreamland is for me the only game in the Kirby series that just felt perfect and couldn't have anything added or taken away -- Kirby's Adventure is also quite good, but there are a lot of terribly repetitive and uninspired games in the series (including the GB sequel). I can't imagine why anyone would put SML2 above Wario Land, and I also can't fathom putting the Oracle games in the same league as Link's Awakening.
Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense. Wii FC: 8378 9716 1696 8633 || "How can mushrooms give you extra life? Get the green ones." -
@Corbie. A B&W Game Boy list can't get much better than that. All it needs is some Pokemans and it would be perfect! And I didn't know there was a GB Parodius!
My top 10 GB:
1. Pokemon R/B (wasn't that fond of Yellow) 2. Tetris (would prefer DX) 3. Super Mario Land 2 4. Final Fantasy Adventure 5. Wario Land 1 & 2 6. Gargoyle's Quest 7. Zelda: Link's Awakening 8. Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters 9. Metroid II 10. Donkey Kong '94
I was all about the arcade ports for this, my only Nintendo product until I bought a Gameboy Micro a few years ago. These were my favourites:
Snow Bros. -- really excellent port, just like the arcade! Elevator Action -- pretty good, the addition of special weapons seemed like sacrilege, though. Block Hole -- a little known Konami arcade game from 1989 that had an excellent Gameboy port.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening 2. Mystic Quest (aka Final Fantasy Adventure or Seiken Densetsu) 3. Wario Land 4. Metroid II - Return of Samus 5. Tetris
Of course not counting any GameBoy Color games, otherwise Zelda Oracles would take 2nd place in this list.
