So, has anyone heard of the nD yet? In case you haven't:http://the-nd.com/I'm still not 100% sold on the legitimacy of this thing, but if it's on the level, I'm in heaven. For anyone too lazy to click the link: it's essentially a handheld console for digital-only distribution, and the idea is to let indie developers have a good platform to release games on. It's pretty much a 16 bit GBA with an internet connection.Anybody remember Bob's Game? Apparently it's going to be a launch title. I suspect that this is where Cave Story would have come out, too, if it were around at the time I'm actually in the process of learning C++ so I can (hopefully) release something on it at some point. They claim it'll be out before the Wii U, so details should be forthcoming soon.Until then, I'm sitting and waiting patiently for further details. But the thing itself will cost between $10-$20, and with the retro charm of 16 bit graphics and the uniqueness of indie games and wireless multiplayer, oldschool gamers like me will be in heaven. Not trying to sound like an advertisement, but I'm pretty psyched for this thing
New name, same game.

It's supposed to be worldwide. Unfortunately, they're saying a lot of "more info when we get established," which is disheartening. They claim they're into prototyping and they have a working firmware, though

Looks like it has a pawprint for buttons.

The one thing I liked about that video:
"It looks like a toy"
That's how it should be. Game are toys. When I see the look of the Vita and people posting pictures of it tagged "sexy hardware" etc, I just grimace. Games will always be toys and own up to that in their console designs. Buttons, colors, LED lights, etc. It's a little gadget made for fun, it ain't a smartphone or a computer.

I would be interested in this, except for the fact that Bob is legitimately insane.

If such a thing actually took off, I would be pleased. I love 2D indie games, but my computer often can't run the ones I want to play. It would also mean playing with buttons instead of a keyboard since not all games let you use a game pad.
Come on, friends,

I've played the Bob's game demo, I'm still aghast that Big N won't give the guy a damn developer kit, honestly, it's better than a lot of the shovelware they DO approve. I'll be interested in possibly getting this though since it'll be so cheap

Am I the only one that feels like this is an extremely fake product? I can't be the only one that noticed the promo said "...and through the power marketing, we can harness your imagination to sell you products for more than their true value," right?
Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

That was tongue-in-cheek humor against video game marketing
That said, I won't believe it 100% until it's in my hands

I'm sorry, but that ad was just awful.
Why is this man screaming at me if he wants me to buy his maybe fake product?

preloaded with Bob's Game? haha, isn't that the game where the guy developing it threw some kind of massive fit because Nintendo jerked him around? lol

Yeah, pretty much. He's redone a lot of his game and is packaging it with some of the launch consoles pretty much in spite of Nintendo. The video Khaozarus linked was done by Robert, and you can see a lot of his anger towards Nintendo in it

That's a list of games confirmed for the nD, some of them actually look rather interesting/brilliant, if this product ever comes to fruition, it's a day 1 buy for me

Yeah like I said, he's crazy.
