Level 18 was good (as usual ), but couldn't you have put the heart container a little more out-of-the way? Perhaps you could have a green bird guarding it and you need to jump on the bird at the proper moment/freezing the heart container and needing to have a snow dog ram in to it. Or even. . .

@shinesprite We want to give one heart container to everyone, since the others are quite hard to get (for casual gamers). The next one will be hell, no panic

Really? I found the first one by accident and collected it thinking it was just another heart. It wasn't until a few levels later, that I realized my max hearts had increased. After reading other people's posts though, I understood.

Also, why put it so late in the game? Casual gamers usually don't complete more than 60% of a game.

Just realized that you can do the unlocked levels in any order.

@shinesprite: So, you don't have to pass the levels all in order? Awesome, I was wondering about that. That means next time I visit my cousin, I can re-pass level 14 to get that AYIM level that I can't download on this connection...

@shinesprite Thats the point, casual gamers might skip the hard leves, get the heart container from the easy ones and return then... that's the plan

The reason for the uncommon difficulty is the developing process from for 4 years ago. Due the fact, that we had only one day to finish the level for the next day (yes, we made each level one day before), forced us to experiment with the difficulty to get a feeling for the balancing. The first world was too hard for many gamers even the project manager from Nintendo said so. That’s why we tried to reduce the difficulty to give more players a chance to master the game…
Of course, when we rebuild the game for a full version, we have time to balance the game more.

@Metroid_Fan Yep, you don't need to play in order. And when you visit your cousin, download also door 18, it's a really big package too!

@stewii: Yeah, I'll probably visit either during or after Christmas, so it'll give me a chance to pick up all the doors with downloads too large for dial-up (and probably the bonus download for collecting every single crystal)...

@Metroid_Fan Technically, you don't even need to re-beat the levels. You can just save the download urls and then go to them to download the prizes when you're at your cousin's.

@stewii Is there any way to kill the green scorpions, or is it meant to be more of a stealth job?

All of the crystals so far. I should probably start downloading these things.....

Unless it's a BIT.TRIP download, I always take the time to grab all crystals the first time through a level so I don't have to go back for them for the bonus reward.

Yet another great level, but, sadly, also another reward that I won't be able to download on my own computer...

It's a fairly glitchy prototype of Max and the Magic Marker. A cool exclusive piece of history (considering I have the final version), but not very fun or worthwhile imo. I enjoyed it but doubt you would much unless you love Max.

Level 19 was awesome...

@Od: I could tell what it was from the download description. I haven't played the full version of Max, but I did play the demo on the site and enjoyed it, so I think I'd enjoy the prototype...
