I don't really idolize D2 or anything (wander around dungeons, click-click-click on enemies, collect loot... it was mindless fun, and that's about it)
Never played one of these games (though I did get Titan Quest on Steam a few months back I think) and that summary had done enough to convince me not to bother...
@Spoony_Tech
It's a different game than it was when it released. So in a sense, it's not really 6 years old. The shell of what Diablo 3 used to be... that's 6 years old.
Having said that, the answer would still be yes. Diablo 3 has almost sold as many copies as Skyrim, and will probably sell more copies than half a dozen new games released this year combined. It's a massively popular game.

In all honesty I really didn't get a ton of AAA 3rd party games over the last 10 years so this and Dark Souls was top of my list. As was L.A. Noire , Skyrim and Doom last year and Wolfenstein this year. I will get as many as I can and hope for Fallout something and Bioshock too. Now those I have played some.
I wouldn't mind THAT much about a six year old port as well, besides the fact that Diablo is a huge series, and its newest game is on a Nintendo console for the first time, has all DLC included, can be portable, and the biggest factor for me: the new exclusive The Legend of Ganondorf expansion.
Yeah, just like Skyrim and L.A. Noire it was one of the most beloved games 6 years ago. I haven't played it, so I'm taking it. I'm on the same boat with all the games you mentioned.
Can't believe they'd port NSMBU. They must be able to knock those games out pretty easily, so to port a game that was already a target for fan fatigue would be a PR mess, and they could probably make a new one for not much more effort.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
We were tired of this. A new game would at least be a new experience for the people Nintendo managed to p*** off going into the Wii U era of samey and safeness.
There are some ports I welcome, of the more exciting Wii U games but this...no thanks. Not at the port prices they are charging.
And where the hell is Xenoblade X Nintendo?
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
@AlternateButtons It's the 2nd or 3rd best selling Wii U game (only beaten by MK8 and has around the same sales as 3D World). It makes sense to port it as long as it comes before any kind of Mario Maker game (port or new) but I would expect the New Super Luigi U DLC to be included.
Mario Maker kind of negates any need for normal 2D Mario games.
"You know this game no one cared about, and NOT because it was a Wii U game? Here it is again full price".
Sounds sane.
I think that's too easy. No one without a Wii U cared, of course not. But the people who did own a Wii U were to a large extent the more fanatic Nintendo fans. With the Switch there's a whole new group of (occasional) gamers, who are absolutely not NSMB tired. Of course at the time, these people didn't care about NSMB. Why would they if they can't even play the game or just totally skipped the Wii U news?
Of course, a better 2D Mario game is more than welcome for anyone, but face it: NSMB U is the new 2D Mario to many if it arrives on Switch.
So yeah, for a lot of loyal fans and hard-core gamers it would be a pr nightmare. For regular consumers it'd be a commercial success though I believe.
Mario Maker kind of negates any need for normal 2D Mario games.
I've said this in other topics but I'll gladly repeat: only if it contains NSMB's chaotic multiplayer mode; at least for a significant part of the target audience.
I think in just the general scheme of things Nintendo wants to be as far away from the Wii/DS era as possible and I dont think, especially in their current PR climate, they want to be announcing a port of a game that sure is new to people, but on the other hand is the POSTER CHILD of the Wii era.

@Knuckles-Fajita But the Wii U didn't exist, and Diablo III is six years old as well. €60 is a fine price
I'm not even sure if I'd buy a new ''new Super Mario Bros.'' game day one, let alone the Wii U game. I wouldn't mind an actual new 2D Mario game at some point though. Just... be a little more unique than the NSMB series. Add a weird and unique gimmick, maybe a different art style. It's weird how their 3D Mario games are always brimming with new ideas, but the 2D series is just a new power up or two and that's all.
@MsJubilee We could certainly use the Virtual Console and the username system instead of Friend Codes. I'd be much happier with the Switch if it was more like the Wii U in those cases.
I imagine I'll still have my Wii U set up in like 2022 because of VC. While I do think Nintendo will expand further than NES with Switch, the roll out will probably be very sluggish like NES only until September 2019.
While NSMBU was a sizable game and had fantastic dlc...however if they just punt that over....even I, who has been pretty understanding of the ports given the sales of the wiiu, will be like: Really?! They are going to have to put in some DLC for me to even think about double dipping.
