I think it would be fantastic to have it on the Switch. It's an excellent multiplayer game that anyone can play, which fits exactly with Nintendo's target demographic for the Switch. I would definitely get it.
Rocket League is a game that still continues to sell in big numbers, both digitally and physically. I assume the developers have looked at the Nintendo Switch as a potential, but I would imagine any chances of it making its way over will depend on firstly whether they can get their hands on the dev kit and how much resources would be needed to make it work with the Switch.

Hello guys I'm just wondering how many people here play rocket league and what are your thoughts on the Switch been powerful enough to run it?
As an avid rocket league player I think it would be great on the switch especially for quick training sessions on the go.
the required hw for rocket league is way below the switch and it is written in unreal engine. It should be really cheap to put it on the switch. So it is a question if they want to have it on the switch.
Does rocket league have single player? If not, that could complicate a port.
Rocket League does indeed have single player. But the fun Is to be had online. The game can run on a potato to be fair so I can see a switch port being released once the Nintendo Online is up and running.
Mmm...at this point i was thinking about a possible co-op mode with both joy-cons or sort of. Do you know if it can be possible? (Speaking about controls) I don't know very well this game since i own only Nintendos. By the way it never got any kind of appeal to me, i hope it can at E3 (maybe?) in any type of way (if it's the case)
@gamermole Didn't know about the needed 2 sticks for movement and camera, and most of all the 4 shoulders, woah...well that makes it impossible for one joy-con. At this point i think it has to become a "wait & see game"...
I would want this on Switch but I would also want a 2-player option with the JoyCons. I wouldn't care so much if that left me at a disadvantage, but it would be nice to be able to play it easily with my Wife.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Now that's the life........ But unfortunately it's looking like it would be a docked 2 pro controller or 2 joy-con grip experience.
Or you could always get a switch each for that local co-op play.
The bumpers seem optional - Voice Chat button (just have voice chat always on or removed) and Scoreboard (Points are normally shown on the screen anyway, scoreboard just has personal stats which aren't very important in game in my opinion)
Second analog could probably be reproduced another way - Free Look, maybe hold "Ball Cam" button and the analog stick becomes the Free Look camera while you hold the button. Maybe motion controls could be used to move the camera around.
D-Pad - Quick Chat options - while nice are normally just spammed, in higher levels of play you will want to voice chat anyway.
And everything else seems like it could be easy to put on a single JoyCon.
@gamermole For higher tier players, yes. For casual players not as much. A lot of things can be side stepped to just get it on the system, but Switch players would technically be at a disadvantage if there is cross-platform multiplayer. This technical disadvantage probably wouldn't affect most players and people looking for Higher Tier Play will probably already be on a different platform or move on when they want to take their game to the next level.

Eh, don't see how it could work on a single Joy-Con.. You really need a second analog stick for Rocket League. Just get another pair of Joy-Cons or a Pro Controller for co-op.
@gamermole Well, compromises have to be made for a Switch version. I would be fine with the compromises I listed because the benefit is easier time playing with my Wife. Negative is that I won't be as good as if I played on a different platform. If you want higher levels of play, don't play the Switch version.
This is one of the underlining problems of the Switch in general, but that is not what this section is about.
