They'll be CG in that they're generated by a computer, as per all the other consoles. But they won't be Pixar graphics or even close. It takes far too long to render movie-quality frames to be even remotely plausible in a game. We're talking 1 frame every 10 minutes. On a stupidly powerful built-for-purpose £2000+ machine, never mind a games console.

No, they won't. It will cost 100's of millions of dollars, even billions, to make games if that is the case, and no one will make games for it.

I'd rather not have to wait until I have grandchildren to play games like that. Besides, I think technology will have advanced by then.

I don't think that the next nintendo will have graphics on par with PS4 and 720, but i'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter that much then anymore. Games (in ps3 and 360) are almost photorealistic already, so nintendo will propably concentrate once again to bring some new innovative ideas on table, rather than just maximizing processor performance.

I don't care about the graphics, long as they're bearable to the eyes, I prefer gameplay / fun factor over graphics.

Graphical power does give more believable,characters,better enviroments/draw distances.

Already talking about the next wave of consoles? Isn't this generation only four-five years old? New handhelds are on the immediate horizon, new consoles are still two to three years from even being worth mentioning.

no, they're not.. there's nothing photorealistic about them. by best it's uncanny village territory. if NGC had the best graphics last generation, Nintendo can easily make the best next generation. the wii success will enable them to do whatever they want.
