So, I just got a job that's not too far from my place and riding a bike there would be ideal to get there quick. I've always wanted a bike ever since I came down to Orlando, especially when it looks like everyone has it.. It was like a sign to me.. or something.. But anywho, I just wanted a decent bike to get to places without having to use my mom's car for the sake of her constant irrational complaints about gas (she complains if I go an extra .5 miles or even 20 feet... yeah, she's that crazy).

So there was this nice deal at Walmart where they were selling a 26' bike for $50. Nice. Saw that it was pink in the ad but said for Men and women, so they had to have another color. Go to walmart, people are pouring in at 8:30p. Decided to park as far away from the store as possible, and well, it's good to walk anyways. So getting there, people are a bit rushy, this group of people are huddled around something, like a camp fire, almost..

So eventually, i find out where the bikes were held and well, it was stupid how they put in electronics, and how they mixed things around in weird places- toasters in toys and a trampoline near foods..

I don't know if this is normal but anyways- I see the bike. Pink. Ask an employee if there's any colors, obviously clueless, they checked over- white sweet. Telling you, it was really uncomftorable standing around and these people were staring at me like I stole their blue berry cheesecake or something. found out later, the line was somewhere else, so confused no kart. I was worried that by that time, the bike I wanted would be gone. Eventually, I get to it, mind you, they opened the bikes section 30 minutes early, strangely enough (supposed to be at 10) and as i got the bike, snagged a vacant kart and made my way to the bike accessories, things got crowded. Overheard people "freaking out" because they saw people with bikes and stuff, wondering why we got it early while they wait beside the mountain of merchandise they are waiting for. Getting the locks and everything, I hear some loud ruckus, some people running to that direction, people stopping to watch- obviously a fight. Which I missed, but i dont care, i wanna get the hell out of there. So, making my way past these animals, i was relieved to have gotten my bike. I heard there were 5 fights. And these employees are there from 9pm to 11am, which sucks but good hours for monies I suppose.

So, I got my bike. And I'm planning on going back in the morning, or better, noon, so they can assemble it.. And yeah, never going to do black friday again. Especially at walmart. Freaking animals.

like I stole their blue berry cheesecake or something.

I know I'd be staring you down. >

But I don't see what was so bad. The fights?

Well, I really needed the bike, so that's why I went. Everything else never matters to me. Plus, I tend to get better deals on Amazon after Christmas day or a little before like I did last year on video games. I got $10-$20 off bundles and stuff for Epic Mickey and Goldeneye where they came with the figurine and gold ccpro respectively. I'm going to do that for Skyward Sword too.

@viewtiful_joe Forgot to mention this originally, but I hate crowds. Being around lots of people makes me kinda nervous and annoyed. Especially if they are shoving, bumping you with their karts- I have blisters on the back of my feet for walking in dress shoes (bad idea) for the interview and I'm glad no one stepped on the back on my foot or rammed me with their kart. people are inconsiderate over material things.

I was nonchalant throughout the whole deal. no rush or anything..

Just found it funny that Walmart is selling them good Samsung TVs at the same price Best Buy has had year round..

I don't think the majority of Walmart shoppers are too bright.

If Black Friday had a deal on something I needed, then I may jump on it again, but I doubt it would happen since this was just one incident, really. All those electronics and stuff- don't care.

I'm happy I got the bike. Beautiful white too

My Wal Mart had many games, Battlefield 3, Rage, Arkham City, Gears of War 3, all for $28. Uncharted 2, Epic Mickey, God of War III and LittleBigPlanet for $15 and some games for even as low as $10. If those weren't good deals then I don't know what is. In fact, I daresay that those were some of the best deals for video gaming period this year, at least in stores.

Bless America and your Wal-Marts.

Black Friday's always messy; it's the only day for sweet deals. You can't go in with your dainty princess hands and your precious ballet shoes. Of course everyone's going to act like rabid squirrels. You do get the prizes you want for the lowest costs possibly achievable, so I believe it's worth the fight.

I don't even leave my house on black friday. I'm not about to get in the middle of the stampede.

I'm thinking that, maybe next year, I go out to the camps at like Walmart or Best Buy and sell the people in line stuff like hot dogs and beer at extortionary rates, and also blast my hipster music at them far enough away from them where they'd have to get out of line to deal with me, and collect bribe money to go away. I'm sure I could make a ton of money really quickly that way.

Exactly.

Well, ome thing I noticed is that walmart is really clever. They have these balloons for special deals. And some are attached to regular items that cost that much everyday (socks, some toys, etc), so when kids want something, it's like a guilt trip and might as well. Some think "Aww those are cute, and it's cheap" but it's like... well, lady, they have always been $4.

Good for Walmart lol

@pikky
I guess. BF3 and Epic Mickey are the only standouts to me. But I was referring to televisions. And Target, you get better deals from them than Walmart anyways everyday (gift card offers, Sonic Colors for DS bundled with 3 3DS stlyi for $20)...

I know how you feel, man. I went Black Friday Shopping at Wal-Mart and it was horrible. The lines, all the people pushing and shoving, the fact that everything you want has been moved or sold out...ugh. Never doing that again. At least you got what you were looking for, though.

@mickeymac

Bummer.. Telling you, these people are animals. What were you looking for btw? Thing with the bikes is that there were all these other stuff to draw attention away from what I wanted, and these employees did a decent job organizing the bike section where they let few people in, then get the next group in.. Heard it was worse last year..

Hope you do find what you wanted soon though.
