Welcome to the new age, It only break us or push us forward.
But I always choose "break", it's fun to watch things fall far from glory.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Konami just probably realize the laziness of the public and consumers of this current generation.

1. If your too broke to purchase it just download it and/or emulate it on your.........whatever
2. If you are displeased with the current generation, then shop for past generation.
3. 99% of most people only piece of hardware in there household is the irubbish/androidbs/cell/mobile device. The computer is too big because most people are too cheap to invest into an house or real apartment. The computer OSes are garbage because they run on intel and not PPC. The computer is anti-private because the patriot act makes the PC extinct; where you could get local visitation by the Russian-police/House of Un-Americans AKA your favorite three letter federal government agency.
4. 2001 reminds too many people of the millions of lives lost in the pointless genocidal slaughter that is not benefiting anybody at all. 5. 2001 reminds everybody of how peaceful life was and we never needed celluar phones, and 10 cents per minute anywhere in the nation plan.
6. Many military people coming home despises the Mtv generation they grew up in along with the second resonance that started in 1995 and ended early in 2001. So the entire western consumer base is against each other with products.
7. If you haven't figured it out. Because the lack of marriages and amounts of seperations/divorces many households now holds two of everything. Even if they were married many people are playing videogames via their gameboy/cell/mobile device.
8. Look I am going to say it. I hate wireless because of the cancer and shorting of lifespan ideas. Because our bones absorbs the radiation over time as well. The point is YOU CAN TAKE AN DEVICE AND PLUG IT INTO YOUR TV SET. If an GBA can do it, why can't your igarbage/zunuts/nds etc do it as well? In fact the first generation PSP had third party attachments to plug into tv sets and displays. EVERY DEVICE IS NOW AN PSP. Get an PCE controller strip for six player action. Probably even could program an phone to radio another phone to create an second controller.
9. Also just to let you know the production of many plastic and non-plastic goods require "oil" and buttons seem to break over time. So instead of an real controller the next generation will struggle with these things. Just how we have some kids who are actually mastering the two wheeled skate board.

Can't say I'm happy about that, but at the same time this won't make a huge difference in my life. I have no interest in Metal Gear or Silent Hill, the golden age of Castlevania is all but gone, and... well, Tiny Toon hasn't been a thing for twenty years now.

The one Konami franchise I still somewhat follow is Pro Evolution Soccer, but that will probably still come to PCs.

I... don't know how much of this pertains to the topic at hand in any way.

Seriously, WTF does 9/11 have to do with the rise of mobile gaming (time to grab your tin-foil hats everyone)?

So they're hoping to spend as little money as possible and hit it big on one or two mobile games to make it worth it. They also seem to be banking heavily on Japan repealing the ban on gambling/casinos. At least Square Enix takes brand image seriously, has a long term plan for mobile, and continue to demonstrate their dedication to retail games at the same time.

Anyhow, I'm sure they'll think of something that'll fit the platform.

Card games do really well on mobile, so I imagine Yu-Gi-Oh! would be a good fit (they've actually already released the TCG on Android at least, though I've yet to try it).

I've also played a couple of shumps on my tablet that have worked well, so maybe they could revive some of their classic shump titles.

It wouldn't that bad if they still cared about console gaming at the same time...

I don't think it matters, because it isn't like Konami actually cares about video games anymore. So that bizarrely makes it a perfect fit for mobile in a way.

I can't believe how mad people are at Konami let's look at the facts.

Konami first and for most is a business and business are created to make money. They go with trends that make the most money if you look at Konami' history this is evident. Konami was originally a jukebox rental and repair company. Then the got into the arcade business when Arcade games were the trend then home console games, then PCs and no mobile. They aren't gamers nor do they care about gaming they care about what will bring in the most money.

Is this wrong of them? Not really. Is it stupid? Nope. Will this be the end of Konami? Probably not.

Mobile gaming is huge in Japan more so then here in NA or Europe due to their lifestyles so for them it's a smart business move.

As for things like Metal Gear, Castlevania etc. The people behind those series, Kojima, Iga knew this and that's why they did what they did. These series my be called something else but we know what they really are.

So people just need to quit over reacting over this news and just remember Konami is a business first and foremost.

Then if they were just fine with being a repair store, why didn't they just stick to that? Even better, why even make games when they can just leave the game industry then and focus on something else?

As long as they exist in the industry, they are hurting the industry by saying that they will make games for mobile which is bad for the industry because it would just be a trainwreck in the end with Google and Apple in an endless battle.

I'm glad Konami is leaving the console market because this would be a perfect example to how not to hurt the fanbase more than it should.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

Honestly do you believe the stuff you type? Are you really that dense?

The didn't stay a repair company cause they evolved with the times. Do you see jukeboxes around alot anymore? They are a business they go where the money is. You call mobile gaming a train wreck but to be honest it's one of the most profitable businesses right now.

The worst thing about this is that all the major franchises will end up in a trashcan and all remaining employees will be out of a job within 4-10 years.

The potential for long term (and even short term) success is so small that they'll need a lot of social media power to going.

That was the last Konami game I bought, I think (or does Bomberman Blast count?). The last decade they haven't been what they used to be. It's sad to see another company go, but when Kojima left, there wasn't much left of Konami either..
