Ugh, My copy of A Link to the Past is at my grandmother's house (our SNES stopped working long ago, but the one she has still works), and somehow my file kept on getting erased (it took me like 5 or 6 times to 100% the game, then it got erased again...).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I always end up forgetting to save. The worst feeling is when you realize right after you turn it off.

I always realize it, right after i turn it off. Then i check and hours of playtime is gone

I don't often end up not saving my game.
I usually forget if I saved, so I do it again... Then I forget if I've saved or not... I usually do that a few times, and when I'm sure that I saved, I turn the game off.

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
And they said you couldn't buy happiness!

Haha yeah, I save like 5 times in a row just to be safe now

Auto save brah

It's a too sided blade.

On one hand, it's convenient. On the other, you have no control over it.

Let's suppose Pokemon had auto-save. You're fighting a Legendary, and you accidentally kill it. Suddenly, auto-save!

I kill legendaries all the freaking time when trying to lower their health lol, that would suck!

When I was younger, I always forgot to save my Pokemon games, still forget rarely to this day. Makes me wish Pokemon Centers gave the option to save after healing with the default option as no.

In fact, when I was very young playing Crystal, I always got confused by saving because I didn't know what it was...

I don't know what that means

Pirates of the Caribbean for xbox. It was the worst because you would get SO many corrupt files randomly. And sometimes you make decisions that ends up getting you killed no matter what. For example, you get a quest where you're a bounty hunter trying to kill this gang of pirates. So I went into the town where the head pirate lived. As usual before I get into duels I saved it right before I got into the battle. I walked into the house and learned that these pirates are under the curse of the medallion so they're immortal and I can't kill them. After a week of trying every way I could to get out of it, I started a new save and had to spend 17 hours getting back to my previous point.

I'm the opposite. I save perhaps too often.

It all began with the introduction of quicksave to PC games in the late 90s. Once that happened (usually by pressing F7) you could save instantly, as often as you wanted. I unfortunately got into the habit of saving every 30 seconds or so, which completely killed any sense of danger for me.

I'm getting better these days, and don't abuse saving so much. I have more fun that way (except for having to repeat really tedious sections of a game).

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

Yeah lol, in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon I would always die and get sent back to the "safe floor" and have to trek my way all the way back up...

Try training in Fire Red for 7 hours on a plane ride getting Charizard over level 95 and forgetting -.-

I almost never forget to save. I'm terrified of forgetting to save, so I save as often as possible, sometimes 3 times in a short period of time, just to make sure.

In Fire Emblem, Chrom was almost dead, and I didn't save because only 2 guys were left. I had a hole in my defense, & he died. I regret that choice.

Hm. Well, if anything, I probably abuse the save feature. If I "forget" to save, it's intentionally, or it's on Animal Crossing to make Resetti mad :3
