Voting is a facade to give people the illusion that their "voice" can make a "difference." THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is a corporation (note the capital letters that were changed on the U.S. Constitution in 1871) located in its own private district and this corporation has a debt of over $16 trillion dollars that the American taxpayer is on the hook for! You think your votes matter? Well in reality they don't mean squat. Take a trip down K Street and you will see where the power (and money) really is, the lobbyists.
Do you have a poorly xeroxed newsletter I can read?
"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." - John Adams.
Anyway, do you have any more random quotes from letters I can read?
Do I have more random quotes? Boy, do I!
"An idea not coupled with action will never get any bigger than the brain cell it occupied."
-Arnold H. Glasow
"Bad politicians are sent to Washington by good people who don't vote."
-William E. Simon
"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."
-Plato
"Turn on to politics, or politics will turn on you."
-Ralph Nader
But if you want to stay in a state of apathy and defeatism then that's your choice.

Nope; two months too young to vote. And while we're talking quotes about voting and politics, here are some from this book I have:
"Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on [offices], a rottenness begins in his conduct." - Thomas Jefferson
"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." - Abraham Lincoln
"When we got into office, the thing that surprised me most was to find that things were just as bad as we'd been saying they were." - JFK
"I shall always consider it the highest tribute to my administration that the opposition have based so little of their criticism on what I have really said and done." - Calvin Coolidge
"One vote is worth 100 obscene slogans." - Richard Nixon
"I'm making a strange wish for you, little man; a wish I suppose no one else would make. I wish for you that you may never be President of the United States." - Grover Cleveland, speaking to a young Franklin D. Roosevelt
"It was a real sort of Southern deal. I had AstroTurf in the back. You don't want to know why, but I did." - Bill Clinton on his pimped-out 1970's van
"I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!" ―Cave Johnson Join the Chit-Chat Crew! :P ...

I find it very hard to believe that every politician doesn't care about the common people. Presidents do help us out, as Bill Clinton reduced our debt and Nixon created the EPA. Sure politics may be dirty, but that's how it's meant to be.. It has always been dirty. Look back at the early days of our nation. Hamilton was killed in a duel by Aaron Burr. I think that politics has actually gotten more toned down..
Its not so much that they dont care its that they dont understand common people, just like most rich people dont. I can give plenty of examples but I will stop now before this thread becomes ugly.
