Duh....

This is assuming Hunters doesn't exist. I like your philosophy.

Plus the fact that Nintendo re-released the games in the Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I would also have to say the original Donkey Kong Country Trilogy, I don't count Returns as it's not a part of the original series and thus, not numbered.

Oh, and everybody who called the SSB series a trilogy, while it may be the case for now, it won't be for too much longer!

I don't, but I would pick the Mario & Luigi trilogy too. I actually got all three new for my little brother for Christmas this year. I think his mind's going to be blown come tomorrow morning.

Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 are a trilogy, regardless of Hunters and Prime Pinball. There was an actual release called the Metroid Prime Trilogy back in 2009 featuring those three games. Hunters, while sharing the "Metroid Prime" name, is mostly unrelated to the events of those three games thankfully.

So what you're saying is: That game doesn't count because you don't want it to, and Nintendo didn't want to either? Cool story bro.

Also, Sonic & Knuckles is essentially Part 2 of Sonic 3 so don't tell me it's not a trilogy.

this is also my favorite trilogy

You're missing Majora's Mask, and SS doesn't really tie in with OoT.

How can that be a trilogy when there is a fourth Sonic?

@tasuki you can consider it to be a trilogy since "sonic 3" and "sonic & knuckles" were originally going to be same game, but got split up into two games for multiple reasons..

Yeah I consider Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles as the same game I consider Sonic and Knuckles more of an expansion pack or DLC before it was called DLC lol. What I was talking about was Sonic 4 that was released on Wiiware/PSN/XBLA. Once that was released the Sonic games weren't a trilogy anymore they were a series.
