Hi

I recently downloaded the Zenonia game and couldn't help but notice that the game was... glitchy. I was just wondering if this was consistent with other players' experience of the game since there is a chance my game didn't download correctly. There are parts in the game where characters flash and the screen seems to flicker where it might be meant to fade between scenes. I just beat up 5 Holy knights and when the second guy came to back up the first... He wasn't there, then a flickering knight seemed to run straight through the trees and off screen. On the odd chance that this is how the game is meant to be I'm dissappointed.I Just thought I should check before I go removing the game and downloading it again since I've just been doing a lot of levelling up and would hate to destroy my save data just to find that is how the game is anyway. Any help would be great. Thanks

the game is pretty buggy. it was like this on the iOS too. the music stops when you enter houses or bring up the menu, there are numerous typo and grammar issues with the script, on DSi, there's no way to disable autosave.
you're just gonna have to deal with it since gamevil says nintendo won't let them do an update to the game unless it's for a game-breaking bug. i.e., a critical bug that prevents the player from advancing the story.

also, in the future if you ever need to redownload something for assurance but don't want to lose your save data, just copy it to an SD card and then delete/redownload. if you figure the problem out, just copy your game back to internal storage and you'll get your save back.

edit:
i wouldn't let these problems get in the way of your enjoying the game, as it's still a great action/rpg, and probably the best RPG on DSiware.

Aside form hilariously bad dialogue, I haven't encountered any bugs during my playthrough.

Indeed, the dialog is pretty bad... terrible, almost. Plus the sprites seemed to be copied straight from Pokemon, and the several minor glitches made it into a pretty meh-worthy RPG. I suppose you can only get so much for 8 bucks though... :|

Aside from all those glitches mentioned above, I encountered a huge glitch, which thankfully only happened once. When I was at the dessert fighting scorpions, the game suddenly froze. I couldn't switch off the ds and I had to leave it until the battery was completely drained. As I said, it only happened once, but that was irritating. Ahh well, It is the only great RPG on the service but compared to other RPG's, its just average.

^ pretty sure that's a hardware issue, and holding power for extra long (maybe three minutes) usually turns it off.

Kinda off-topic:
I haven't tried the first Zenonia, but I really like Zenonia 2 at least. :O Its sprites are way different from Pokemon and way more detailed. I think it had very good combat with lots of depth to be found, especially for an iPhone game. AND it's only 1 dollar!

The game froze on me twice, but holding the power button for a couple of seconds worked just fine. My save also got corrupted once, but luckily I was only a few hours in at that point. Still, those are some pretty serious bugs...
And the translation is indeed horrible with tons of grammar and spelling errors.

I've only encountered one glitch so far. Sometimes I get stuck on the gray boxes.

Other than that, though, I am enjoying this game. _

I just assumed all of that was from lack of polish than because of glitches.

Yeah quikman, I have noticed a lot of the sprites look weirdly similar to pokemon npcs....

Ugh, Nintendo better allow updates on 3DS software, not having updates is a pretty dumb concept in this day an age.

DSiware allows updates(to fix glitches and stuff) and I think quite a few games have been updated. The problem is they don't have a notification system in place... which they do for 3DS. Plus Pokédex 3D clearly shows that they can be updated.;)

YOU CAN DISABLE AUTOSAVE! just go on options and turn autosave off. i downloaded it straight from eShop, and i haven't had a single glitch or bug. everything has run smoothly.
The music is supposed to stop in buildings and menus, right? 'cos mine does. i don't think it's a glitch, 'cos it's really consistent. i actually quite like the little grammatical errors "the fields was soaked in blood" , heh, heh, funny.

Is this game glitchy because I'm thinking about getting this game but if it is very buggy I won't. I would be getting it for the 3ds, maybe downloading it on a dsi then transferring it over to the 3ds.

i play on 3ds, only glitch so far is invisible gray blocks that can't be moved. i know that they are gray boxes because sometimes they are there and others not. but this is a VERY rare issue.

@bossmank - so the game is fine then? This forum made me wonder about the game and considering I want to pick it up I want to make sure it's not full of errors.

So this game is recommended for a rpg fan then?

I haven't had bugs or glitches on this game yet, runs really smoothly for me. Only problem is grammatical errors here and there, but it kind of makes the dialogue a little more funny, for me atleast. :3
