$50-$60? Not sure if I'd buy. Buying the old games would only cost $30-$40. See with the Mario All-Stars package, the cartridge alone for the SNES goes for $30, so it was worth the value for the extra stuff.
This...Not so much.

I'll just repost what I said in the last article, since it perfectly sums up how I've felt about Sonic.

"Sonic never clicked with me, personally. I'll always refer to him as a "Super Saiyan wannabe" thanks to not only his Super Sonic transformation, but his "Piccolo" friendship with Knuckles, and don't forget about Vegeta, I mean Shadow. Also 7 Chaos Emeralds sounds a lot like 7 Dragonballs.
So yeah, Sonic never clicked with me, but he helped drive the pinnacle era of innovation in gaming due to his rivalry with Mario, pushing both Sega and Nintendo to do things they would not have done if the pressure wasn't as tense as it was. For better or worse."

One thing I have to point out, and it's at James

"Sonic the Hedgehog was the very first video game I ever played."
Nice.

"I remember he had a PC with Wolfenstein which I played for a little while"
You say this before discovering his TV/ Mega Drive, so Sonic really wasn't your first?

"at that time my sole experience of gaming was a few basic games on the 8-bit VIC-20"
But I thought Sonic was your first game?

BedCommando commented on Review: SSX Tricky (GameCube):

I still hail this as the best sports game to date. As SSX went on, they toned down the over the top nature, which resulted in lesser products like SSX3, On Tour, and Blur.
The reason? The love EA put into the series faded after Tricky, since it really is perfection.

BedCommando commented on Nintendo Taking "Massive Leap" with Wii U's On...:

I don't think Xbox Live has to watch out for anything right now, and the only thing the Playstation Network needs to watch out for is it's security.

Still, Nintendo making their online actually worthwhile, even if it's somewhat, is still a good thing.

Another Banjo-Kazooie game? Ugh.
Don't get me wrong, love the first two,and own them for both my N64,and my 360 (100% on all of them to), BUT...Nuts and Bolts was so lifeless, and forced, I don't think I can handle another subpar title starring my favourite bear and bird.

BedCommando commented on Talking Point: What You Want in a New Nintendo...:

My wants are only what Nintendo needs to do.

  • Built-in hard drive
  • Better online functionality (Specifically having a Gamertag-like account)
  • Good games
  • Backwards compatibility.

That's it. No need for HD, or a ridiculous amount of horsepower under the hood.
