By now, most of us DS owners are gearing up to move over to the 3DS, and we also know what mostmof the major DS releases left will be.
So what will be the last DS game that you buy (or at least expect to)?
There's some good games left to come, but for me, Ni No Kuni is probably going to be the last one I buy. I love Ghibli, so I plan on getting both the DS and PS3 versions of that game, but I imagine it will work better for me in handheld format.
The last Kirby title (ETA Autum 2011?) seems to be a non-3D DS title so it may well be that one if the revws say its a good game. Other than that it'll probably be Pokemon black for the lad and I (ETA April 2011?).
I wouldn't count the DS out yet, BUT I can see me concentrating my main finances on the 3DS, yes.
On my pre-order list are: Mario vs DK Mini-Land Mayhem, Pokemon Black (when you can pre-order it), Okamiden;
and MAYBE De Blob 2 Underground (together with the wii version as its an entirely individual game) as well as Kirby DS (when you can order it).
The DS game development seems to be winding down a bit doesn't it?
there's a few games i'm still waiting on -- Ghost Trick and Okamiden, and of course Ni No Kuni. has the latter been announced yet for a western release, though? last i checked it still was only confirmed for Japan

The last game I expect to buy for my DS is Okamiden. I've got a backlog of old games I still want to buy and I'm hoping to clear that out in the next few months. Once that's sorted, I'll get Okamiden. I might get Pokémon White, but I'm gonna wait and see what happens with Pokémon on the 3DS first, I think.
Well, the last DS game I'll get before the 3DS is probably Kingdom hearts Re:coded, but even when I get a 3DS I'll still get games for the DS that I missed out on.

I don't think I'll be getting a 3DS at release and, besides, I have plenty of DS games to complete first.
People on this forum have good taste. Ni No Kuni, Ghost Trick, Okamiden, de Blob 2, Ace Attorney Investigations 2 and Radiant Historia are all 2011 DS games I'm looking forward to.
Then there's Pokemon Black and White for the Pokemon fans round these parts.

There's ni formal announcement, but Level-5 is good at bringing games over, and Studio Ghibli is western-friendly. I would be very surprised (and upset) if I have to struggle through reading this game in Japanese.
The ds didn't stop me buying GBA games so the 3ds won't stop me buying ds games. There are still many GBA, ds and dsiware games that I need to get and I'm still going to buy them as well as all the awesome 3ds games that are coming out.
There's still a bunch of DS games I haven't gotten to so I have no idea what my last on may be. In fact I'll probably still be getting DS games 5 years from now.
Sorta off topic: I just noticed this is the first time 2 new pokemon generations came out for the same system. 0.o
Okamiden will probably be the last game I buy. Have been looking forward to it for ages. If it's anything like the original, it will be a good game to go out on.

Actually, this is not the first time two generations of Pokemon have appeared on the same system. Pokemon Gold and Silver were released for the original GameBoy, just like Red, Blue, and Yellow. They were enhanced for the GameBoy Color, but they were technically GameBoy games.

They were more backwards-compatible than forwards-compatible though. They were designed for the Game Boy Color (hence the considerably enhanced pallets compared to putting an original GB game in a GBC, and the inability to pallet-swap on start up), but could run on Game Boy

That actually is more or less what I meant. Even though they had GameBoy Color features, they were still compatible with the original GameBoy. Now that I think about it, Nintendo is kind of doing the same thing with Black and White. They will run on any DS, but they have additional features like video chat when they are played on DSi or DSi XL. Sorry for any confusion.
Ni No Kuni (after I looked it up cause you people mentioned it =O), Ghost Trick (same devs as pheonix wrong how can you go wright? err.....), Pogeymanz, Golden Sun DS, Final Fantas: Four Light Warriors, and lots more. I can't afford a 3ds at release time so I'll still be stocking up games. It's not like I buy games all the time these few games I mentioned here will be spread out for years probalby
there are a number of old games i've still yet to get, too, but the two biggest (read: probably only) new games between now and the 3DS launch i'll be getting are (as you probably could guess) Pokemon Black and Okamiden.

There won't be any. Like with the DS and GBA, it'll take years before I stop playing my DS. Hell, I'll just be using the 3DS for DSiware and GB/C games for the first few months since I doubt there'd be much at launch that I'd want. There usually never is.
