If a game doesn't have a great online mode (which most DS games don't have) it's rare to find a game I'm still playing a year later. There are some exceptions, but none on the DS I can think of.
"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion."
I've done pretty much all there can be done in Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits, but strangely I still come back to it from time to time.
Tetris DS gets a lot of playtime from me as well, as does Mario Kart DS, mostly due to the multiplayer. Though I haven't had for a full year yet, Retro Game Challenge will certainly be a game I'll come back to again and again.
disgaea...and i really don't enjoy it anymore. I just have that sense of "well i've already put in so much time..." obligation.
DS games tend to find their way into the library, but rarely find their way back out. Obviously Sonic Chronicles found its way there much, much, much faster .

Games I've come back to and replayed at least once:
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass pokemon pearl deal or no deal professor layton and the curious village
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
