Consider this: the more this game sells, the more likely they are to make further exclusives!
It also seems to be better that codename steam.

Pre-ordered it from the Nintendo store with the plates and a theme for just over fifty quid. Shouldn't be too long now.

Oh but how I'd love an amiibo of Dunban and the others to go beside poor lonely Shulk, One can dream 😫😫😫

What does the Shulk Amiibo actually do? Is it something that you can't otherwise achieve?

From what I recall not much. I think it gives you like 3 token to use on in game 3d model unlocks. Its not needed but it might help you get all the unlocks faster. Its something along those lines.

That's exactly correct. It's not a very good use for an amiibo, especially one so rare. I hope a future game, doesn't have to be a Xenoblade game, puts it to better use.

Does it help you unlock songs from the soundtrack too or is that all available from the off?

If you ask me the only game to use Amiibo's correctly is Code Name Steam. The problem is finding any of those Amiibo's.

Also I forgot to add 3 tokens a day.

I would assume the entire soundtrack becomes available all at once while the models need to be unlocked. But that's just my assumption, don't quote me on that.

@Spoony_Tech Well Steam and Smash IMO. But yes, I agree, the best use of amiibo we've seen so far is when they summon the actual character into the game; I wish more games would do that in the future.

I still think Steam By far trumps Smash. The thing with Smash is all those characters are already in the game. Plus I think it's really lame the computer does all the fighting

...What would be the point of amiibo in Smash if you could control them? You can do that normally without paying $13.

Anyway I get what you're saying. Summoning a playable character that otherwise wouldn't even be in the franchise much less the game is a better function that summoning a character that already exists in the game.

@TeeJay I misunderstood the use of Amiibo's in Smash when I got it months ago. I thought it was your own personal fight the you trained in a specific way. Once I realized the way they were used I really thpught they were rather lame. I guess it was my fault for not paying enough attention.

I still don't fully understand what you mean by "a personal fight that you trained in a specific way". No matter how hard a try I can't understand the viewpoint of those who thought amiibos could be playable. Personally I think a learning CPU is a fascinating concept, and it's cute when they start to imitate you, haha. Also you get this fatherly feeling when they start beating you, a student-surpassing-the-master type feeling.

Anyway I think we derailed the discussion a bit

Ok, I didn't say it for your satisfaction lol.

Systems: Wii U, Wii, New 3DS Ambassador Edition, 2DS
Amiibo Collection: Villager, Rosalina, Zelda, Sheik, Toon Link, Link, Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucina, Pit, Shulk, Fox, Yoshi, Toad, Squid Inkling, Meta Knight, Ganondorf (pre-ordered), Yarn Yoshi (pre-ordered)

Right, I was just saying I imagine you were being hyperbolic. It's incredibly hard to play any game for over 600 hours. Except maybe an MMO.

I want impressions from Europe this week if you happen to pick it up. Would like to know how the 3d looks and how well it plays with it on.

Got my copy today. The game plays really well. Great framerate. But really muddy textures and the 3D is really awful. Adds absolutely nothing by turning it on. I suspect they had to cut corners to get it to run at 30fps so maybe only the first 10m of distance is being registered or something like that. So if you want it just for the 3D, save your money. The only reasons to buy this version are for portability or if you couldn't find the Wii version cheap.

I do want it for the portability as I game on my 3ds a lot more. Ots disappointing to hear about the 3d though. I've seen some reviewers say it looks nice in games and there's barely any to be seen. Pokemone X/Y is a good example of not even wanting to turn it on with what little is there to begin with. Thanks for your impressions!

Hey everyone. I got my copy as well. So I want to express my opinion. I have played the wii version, not all of it,but I have an opinion. So, I think on 3Ds(Ihave the small one) the quality of image is not good. Also you can look from a far distance and this way you cant see sometimes the enemy(the small animalas at least because they have same colour as the grass). Also you have to hurt your eyes to see some things. Also the colous os not that vivid. The attacks are the same way as on the wii,for me kinda confused(not a big problem though). So my problem it is in the graphics. But after all we all know that is a great game. And GREAT Music. They had to have japanese voices.

I have been playing it for 2 hours now. I have to say, I am impressed that they pulled it off! Xenoblade on a handheld! The only issues I have are with the 3D and sound quality. The 3D is barely noticeable and the voices sound a bit compressed trough my headphones. I haven't found anything else to complain about though. I do think it is a shame that they gave the name '3D' in the title, while it isn't there at all. It looks like the world is on the background layer, and the HUD is on the foreground. This game would have benefitted from great 3D to make the world seem even bigger.

I love this game so far, due to a busy schedule I've only been able to play it for 2 hours, but those hours felt like 10 minutes. I'm really looking forward to advancing in the game!

I used the shulk amiibo in the gallery and it gets you 3 coins if anyone wanted to know which you can redeem to get new character models and songs. By spending 1 coin you get a random chance of unlocking something or for 3 you get a guaranteed new item. I noticed you can use streetpass or your play coins too though I haven't tried those ones out yet. It's bare bones amiibo use but it's nice to have the beautiful soundtrack available.
