okay seriously:
-nintendo first party games
-handhelds can be played everywhere and i dont need a tv
-ps vita sucks hard
-there is a reason why it is called "developer's system"
I loved my DS and knew there are great games coming (Rune Factory, Animal Crossing, ect.). I play my handhelds just as much if not more than my consoles so it was an easy choice, and the fact my DS Lite had a loose hinge gave me a nice excuse. All the extras like backwards-compatibility and the circle pad being better for DS games are icing on the cake.
My other reason for getting my Beautiful red 3DS XL is that I traded in all my DS games and my DSi because I got bored with it in 2010. I moved on to my iPod touch and apps. Bad move, I got bored of mobile gaming too. So I went and got a 3DS.

I saw a demo unit at a store, liked the clarity of the screens (compared to DSi) and new online features (e.g. Spotpass, Swapnote is a big step up from the disappointment that was PictoChat). Initially I was waiting out for the XL, but ended up going for the regular 3DS' smaller size and additional colours. The music player supports AAC now, what a novel idea! Sarcasm aside, it's also cool that apps like the game notes and browser can be launched to look something up quickly with a game paused. Game notes I've also used to jot down odd bits of info while out and about, like a reusable notepad.
Basically came for the portability and stayed for the games. VC is a side bonus. Also, thanks to NL and forums I've re-discovered some gems, slowly going through some RPGs and a few new titles I probably wouldn't have bought from looking at the cover/demos but ended up enjoying.
Anyway, I guess I'll add that my DS Lite shoulder buttons died on me, so I needed a new system to play a lot of games. I might as well have gotten a 3DS.
Best thread ever

i really want to try one but no shop allows people to touch one because they are afraid it could break it -.-
vita has no games. i know the vita has much potential but until there are any interesting games it just sucks.
3DS is my first gaming handheld system, so it's first main appeal to me was portable gaming. Then all the KI:U news started coming in, and then I had to have it.

3DS sucks hard. It has no games, even though it has some interesting games, but it just sucks.
See I can do it too!
most games it has right now are not worth buying a 3DS. when i bought mine, i thought the upcoming games would be released soon after the release of the 3DS. i bought one, and im still waiting for them ]:< it's not worth your money until all the good stuff is released. there are already some good games, but not enough to buy a 3DS. however, there are already lots of good Downloadable games available, if that's what you're looking for, like pushmo and mutant mudds. but i usually prefer retail games, so if that's the case, then...

Well...my ds r trigger died,my a button broke my b button got stubborn and was difficult to use, the top screen doesn't display colors correctly, (red blurs on it)
And if I tilted the screen a certain way everything would turn into buzzy horizontal colourful lines. The d pad broke slightly making it very difficult to move to the right and moderately hard to move in other directions.and sometimes the speaker would get weird.
So I needed a replacement. And the 3ds seemed cool, the games seemed fun the 3d sounded cool so I got one.
It's not that the vita has no games, it's just the games don't appeal to everyone, and there far too different from Nintendo and most stuff is just ports or PS3 titles, when they have more obscure games like chibi Robo, Ouendan, and sin and punishment were to Nintendo, then I'll get it
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
I do sometimes regret buying the thing a lot of its early titles didn't really interest it turns out.
ditto. i thought i'd find interest, but i never did. not until the ambassador games finally came along. they were some good time wasters. i just wish nintendo picked out better NES titles. they left several of my mid '80's favorites!
