I first got interested when I read about the 3D effects and then tried out a demo in a store to see how the 3D worked. It did impress me but the price was too high.
Then they cut the price, and I got quite interested.
Then I found out about OOT3D, and with how I excited I apparently was, my wife got me the Zelda bundle for Xmas (best Xmas gift ever).
I was and continue to be primarily looking forward to VC releases of games I played as a kid, preferably when they redo them in 3D.
also i clearly own a 3ds because i forget that region-locking is a thing where is my rocket slime 3d and time travelers and bravely default and stuff and whatever happened to rodea i believe they said kadokawa was being terrible or something why are crossovers like project x zone and wright vs. layton being ignored do companies hate money (atleastnintendoisntletting3dswarediesoeasilythankgod)
I own a 3DS for the games. Initially that mean Ocarina of Time, but has since meant Mario Kart 7 and Mario 3D Land, and will soon mean Paper Mario Sticker Star and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.
Not usually, but the 3DS does have a lot of JRPGs...
if only those games were brought to the states D: it guarantee it would restore my love of the 3DS. as i have said several times, all the good games havent been released(or at least, not the ones i'm looking forward to).

I had a DSi that I was in love with. Really blown away by it and loved playing it. When the 3DS was announced I knew that everything "new" would go to that platform. I pre-ordered immediately. A DSi with better visuals, no glasses 3D and a circle pad? I was hooked. My best friend and I (he pre-ordered as well) were a little nervous about the quality of the 3D, but 1 day before release, I played Pilot Wings in Best Buy and was totally blown away. Day 1 I got Star Wars Lego, PES and okami-den for DS, just cause I was going to get it anyway. =)
Since then it's only been a great choice. I actually have the XL now and it's even better. It even play DS games better than the original 3DS. Honestly I couldn't be happier with a handheld. Ocarina of Time 3D, StarFox, NSMB2, Mario Land 3D (excellent), Resident Evil: Revelations; man we have some good games today. Professor Layton!
Now I'm looking forward to a new Monster Hunter, a new Fire Emblem, and even Castlevania. I think the 3DS library will be as rich as the DS library in a few years, as this appears to be a phenomenal year for 3DS.
The thing I like about the 3DS is that even though the DS was great with very little changes besides the DSi, the 3DS can add more with just something as simple as an update
